Nyko the Chow Chow Swimming

Chow chows usually aren't swimmers. Don't tell that to our 12 1/2 year old chow that loves lakes and pools and any body of water that he can float and swim in. Living in Florida, he loves to swim after we come in from our walks or any other time he can sneak in the pool!

What a great dog! He is so graceful in the water; it doesn't even look like his feet are moving. Like a furry flotation device! I had a wonderful female chow who lived over 16 years...I miss her very much.

They are wonderful dogs, sadly mine has gone to doggy heaven but she was so lovely & just loved all other animals. She also loved children, we got her when my daughter was only 5 years old and never had any issues with her when other children came to play. Suzy our chow chow played very gently with our cat, & big black rabbit & the hamster. However she was very stubborn and insisted on being asked nicely to come, order her to come and she just looked up at you and then sat down. She adored the snow and loved to run around and roll in it.. Newver went swimming but didn't mind being gently bathed. I would love another one but at preent we have a terrier and 2 elderley cats so will have to wait to see what future brings.
