Your video confirmed my decision. Been natural for years and have not had a good trim. Thinking about cutting off two inches. Now I'm ready
@MinaMina-nb5tl6 жыл бұрын
I have been NATURAL 4 almost 4 years n I haven't had a good trim either. I hear so many horror stories abt ppl putting perms n ppl natural hair. So I haven't found ANYBODY I trust 2 cut my hair yet. The girl I want 2 do my hair stay booked up n she stays far away from me. But shoot I'm tired of waiting AROUND on her. I think I'm just going 2 do so more research find me a back up natural hair stylist I can trust. I big chopped four years ago. I have worked too hard on my hair (growing) wit spending money on satin hair bonnets from online, hair products, n hair accessories. If ur not natural urself far as being a natural hair stylist n ur hair texture needs 2 b close 2 mine . Don't even think abt touching my hair. I need c 2 pics of ur work n ur previous clients hair! Ijs
@Just-YOLANDA-T.C6 жыл бұрын
Mina Mina totally understand. I get nervous because some of the stylist are too scissor happy for me. This is why I am preparing myself by saying 2 inches so I won't get upset. Every time I comb my hair out and do the next section, then come back, it's tangled back up. I am not as concerned about growth as much as healthy hair now. And if somebody puts a perm in my hair, you will see me on the news, BLACK GIRL DESTROYS HAIR SALON DUE TO PRODUCT MIXUP LOL

@suez76156 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for this, Nyma! I learned alot. I may not be black but I did end up the only girl with EXTREMELY curly hair in a family of straight/wavy. I never knew how to care for my hair and had to learn through trial an error (there were many errors). I never understood how my sisters could just use shampoo and my mother wouldn't even purchase conditioner when I was younger, unless I asked. I also didn't understand why they felt it was necessary to wash their hair everyday and also why I got made fun of for washing every 3-4. Also, I have found that nearly no one knows how to cut curly hair. I can't imagine what that's like for a person of color. I hope this helps others. Okwe is beautiful and smart, a killer combo.

This was so cool to watch. As a white girl I always feel like I’m not allowed to ask questions about natural hair without being called ignorant or something. This video was so informative!
@Margar025 жыл бұрын
Right! It's like, we get told to not be ignorant and learn about different hair types, but asking questions is "fetishising" their hair. Not everyone acts that extreme about it but if you listen to the internet you'll get that impression. I think the real issue is when you ask questions of an acquaintance or stranger, or ask too many questions, or at an inconvenient time. It's rude to be grilling someone about their hair when they're just trying to live their life. If you're hanging out with a friend and beauty is a topic of conversation then I imagine it would be different. Don't place the responsibility of teaching you on another person who may not have the time or energy, especially when we have KZbin to teach us now.

Omg I’m sorry you feel this way I am natural and have hair that is waist length you can ask me anything!

@@margaritarodriguez6426 white girls are natural too. Don't be ignorant. And your surname is Latina. And you aren't nyma, she's talking about nymas hair type
@margaritarodriguez64265 жыл бұрын
Kay O the term natural in the black community directly refers to black women that do not put relaxers or texturizers in their hair in order to make it straight. I am not at all being ignorant you just do not understand how the term is used in this specific community so you took it the wrong way. I didn’t even say. I never even once said anything about race all I said is she can ask me because I am natural she seems to know what the term natural was referring to. Also my surname is Could be Hispanic for a variety of reasons such as marriage but in my case adoption. I’m not sure what my last name has to do with me being natural. I’m not at all coming at you with negativity I just don’t think you understood what it means in the black community to be natural

Found this really moving. People assume you automatically know how to take care of your hair but unless you're shown you don't. Your hair story reminds me of mine and the texture of your hair is similar to mine but longer (especially at the front). So many young women watch your videos and I love that they'll get advice that will support their natural hair...prevent them from losing it. I love wigs... I can be a different me every day, but I really regret the damage I have done to my own hair (and skin). People assume South Africans have short hair but mine is the result of hot combs, chemicals and bad habits. I'm passing this video on to Paulina beauty. She is Swedish and bottle blonde but this video will resonate with her to (heat and chemicals). She's also trying to go natural...grow out damaged hair... and following advice like this to do so. I've been on youtube so much lately I've forgotten the UK English for "banging". You look beautiful as always hun

I have struggled with my curly hair my entire life.. Every morning growing up my mom wld sit me down and brush(pull,tug) my hair until she blow dried it straight. I cringe thinking about how puffy/frizzy my hair looked. I didnt discover flat irons until yrs later.. So now I am constantly battling to keep my hair healthy despite daily blow drying and straightening (which is impossible) I had major breakage about 2 yrs ago and had to chop it to just below my CHIN!!needless to say now I am trying to embrace my curly hair and have learned that the only reason i hated it so much was bc i didnt know what to do with it or how to care for it. KZbin videos like this have changed my hair game totally. I learn so much from videos like this. I really appreciate all the questions u were asking her. So helpful THNKU👏

I love your natural hair it's absolutely gorgeous! I'm so happy to hear that you have been natural for 3 years you are one of the reasons why I did the big chop myself.

I couldn’t even focus on what you two Nubian Goddesses were saying because I can’t stop looking at your face, Nyma. I’m low-key obsessed with your beauty. Your makeup in this video is just exquisite, Queen!!

I find myself watching more of these videos because my hair is annoying as hell. I'm caucasian with dark curly, frizzy, knotty locks. It's a pain to brush and look after. For some reason the hair underneath is the knottiest, corkscrewiest (is this a word lol) and rougher in texture! I do enjoy how long my hair looks and feels straightened but it is so much work!

This video was so amazing to watch. I have straight white girl hair as well and I love to learn about other types of hair because I really envy the volume and shape that natural hair can achieve. It's very awesome you got to learn about your own hair and how to best take care of you.

Another natural girl with fine hair!!!! Not many of us around. That’s why I created my YT channel, it’s hard to find channels that address fine natural hair.
