The Kardashian’s have black partners, mixed children, mixed nieces and nephews but do not do anything for the black community including in the makeup world and that’s extremely unfortunate considering they do have mixed kids and that their name is such a big brand. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻It’s sad, and I definitely think that black people and poc in general have the right to be mad. It’s disappointing and extremely disheartening to hear opinions that people “shouldn’t complain” about it, or hear excuses that women like nyma are just far darker than the “general shade range”. It says so much about the way black people esp dark-skin people are treated, and to overlook it because this particular example has to do with makeup is irresponsible and willfully ignorant. I hope that more people, who don’t experience being left out, can watch videos like this and hear opinions like this with an open mind. And I really hope this changes soon. The racial prejudice needs to stop. And this is exactly what it is. So much of black culture is trending and while a lot of people like to use it to their advantage, whatever it may be, they completely ignore and don’t try and look into the issues that black people face. It’s not ok and it shouldn’t be glamorized. Speaking up against the kardashians isn’t a crime. I hope more people get that there is a very real and painful reason why people are so angry when any of the kardashians do things like this. It’s insensitive. It’s a slap in the face.

You know that big brands are businesses? I don't know how many people with very dark skin live in the USA, however, I guess every brand does their market research in what the most profitable product is, including makeup colors. I don't think it is supposed to exclude someone or that it is fair - but should it be fair? It is business. Every company is free to launch whatever they want, honestly. Let's say you want to start producing baloon toys for kids. You make your research and it appears, that the vast majority of children love blue and green baloons. Would you include other colors to your offer knowing that it will bring you loss, but also that some kids would like a red baloon? Nope... it's your money down the drain. I don't use makeup at all, so I don't really understand the fuss about it and I honestly don't know how I ended up watching this vid, either. ^^

dega farah I said I don't know how big of a market percentage are people with skin as dark as the person on the vid. What is ignrorant about it? I only made a point that business owners do their research before introducing a certain product to their offer. Maybe their surveys showed it not profitable. Got it? I am not saying it is fair, I am trying to explain that busineds is business, it is always about money.

Reason being, a lot of us have lots of redness and light foundations don't cover redness as well as darker ones.

@tylermartinez38997 жыл бұрын
Marion Rougé you can tan. Dark people cant lighten.
@mygirk7 жыл бұрын
Afrodyke Saying "Get a tan" doesn't help us. Many of us can't tan naturally because our skin doesn't tan, and why should we have to change ourselves because makeup companies don't want to put in the effort to make a product that works for us? I'll accept that highlight is probably not something I'll be able to find and just continue to use my white eyeshadow, but that doesn't help with foundation. The lightest shades of most foundation is too dark and too orange for me to even use as a contour.
@nataliadoe71267 жыл бұрын
Afrodyke lmao. It doesn't work like that. I'll burn and go back to being pale. Tanning also equates to sun damage (ages you faster and increases risks of skin cancer for paler people.) If makeup companies just made lighter and darker shades it would be the solution we're all looking for.
@MissNoragnn7 жыл бұрын
Afrodyke we're more prone to skin cancer because of the lack of melanin. It's not worth it just to find makeup that matches. It took me a long time to find something that worked, not just with my skin color, but the undertones. Makeup has come a long way but it still has a long way to go.

@anac77687 жыл бұрын
Roxannesmondernlife K right 😂 I can't belive some people think it's impossible to make, nyma herself has a video about all of the contour products she loves how can they not exist? Plus it obviously can be made, we just need a very dark brown which definently exists in palettes, kajal pencils etc so it can definently be made
@minaxx87807 жыл бұрын
Roxannesmondernlife K so what do you suggest companies do? create a black contour stick/liquid or powder because thats the only color that would be darker then a dark brown skin tone?
@anac77687 жыл бұрын
Mina xx no they don't need black contour, just go and watch Nymas video on her favourite contour. And I mean, even if she needed a pitch black contour it's not that hard to make it, they just don't think about the deep skintones, it's just the same as doing a dark brown but adding a different color pigment, in this case, black
@roxannesmondernlifek93667 жыл бұрын
Black is not a color anyway it's a shade , But I'm simply stating the obvious there is women with even darker undertones then hers who contour . Companies just need to make more red - to grey undertone ebony makeup rather then white based because obviously they have more red and grey hues .

I have a question... Why do brands do this? Financially speaking Isn’t it beneficial to have a wider shade range? Wouldn’t they make more money if they could sell to more people and have more people use their products for publicity? Why do so many brands disregard darker shades or a variety of them? Out of hate?? I’m almost always the lightest shade in every complexion product and it sucks when the lightest shades are too dark for me, so I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be to have almost no shades available. Smh
@dakotah80925 жыл бұрын
molly o well actually it’s not about racism it’s pure business. Creating a larger shade range requires too much investment not only in the R&D process, and it is super expensive to maintain since they are not as popular as other shade. So they might just ends up with tons of products in the warehouse that no one gonna buy, cuz the fact is that in most European countries, North America and Asia the skin color of major population aren’t that deep.

I believe some magazine did a story on it last year, asking companies why they leave out dark skinned people. The reason was because they wrongly assumed that people of color don’t wear makeup as much as people of lighter skin toned, this was when they were asked why they often left them off
@sunny-dgates38015 жыл бұрын
@@pocketokangaroo7303 You aren't getting it. Although it is ethically wrong, it is not completely illogical. Black people do use makeup just as much or as often as white people do, however in the U.S there is a larger POPULATION of whites and lighter skin tones. As KKW Beauty is a U.S based company, this is why lighter tones are targeted. But it does not justify leaving anyone out. I have a friend who is not very dark, but instead very light. She is very, very pale with an uncommon for her coloring pink undertone. It is very hard for her to find products that look natural/good on her. I feel the pain right along with her, as although I am tan and therefore fall in the largely catered to "medium" category, I care about her struggles. Being in middle school and dealing with issues of self-confidence, I feel horrible that she cannot easily find anything for herself. It makes me sick. Every person needs to be included. But in order to acheive this we must learn about the root of the industry's problem before fixing it. So please, listen to others and think about what they are *really* trying to say before responding in a hateful way.

It's really interesting for me to watch someone with the same problem but on the other end. I'm really really pale, and I don't even wear foundation or concealer, simply because I can't find one that fits. It's great that people are calling out beauty brands for only catering to mid-spectrum skin tones.
@SugarSweet18976 жыл бұрын
Sunny Well these “mid-spectrum” people make up the general population. A startup makeup brand can come up with extremely dark/ light shades on their idea board but the production costs would be too large considering the small percentage of people with such extreme skin tones. Even if they do, it is uncertain if beauty gurus would even hear of it, unless they have the brand activating power like Fenti does. Ever heard of majority of the Korean makeup brands (in Korea, not the international ones)? Their spectrum goes to the extreme light ends, and even someone like me, who is considered “fair-skinned” in general can’t find a shade there because they’re all too light! Sad thing is, most pale-skinned people in the West have never heard of it because their names are too small for the market and there aren’t enough “extremely pale-skinned” people there to sustain it. The brands are there, it’s just that they don’t have the activation power like Fenti or Estée Lauder to flaunt their 40 shades. It’s the same for a lot of industries, really. I’m short and can never find a maxi skirt that fits. And coming from an Asian country where majority of the girls are petite, it is very hard for us find the right clothing size in western brands’ stores because majority of the people in America are of larger build. Bottom line is, the brands are there, but the market isn’t. I’m not shaming this girl and you for being on the extreme ends of the spectrum, but there are only an extremely small percentage of you guys and it’s very hard to sustain a product for a target market with so few buyers.

I'm not trying to disrespect this beautiful girl but this is what people mean about her not needing a contour. Kim played everyone with this shitty ass kit. All the youtubers that got invited to her house gave fantastic reviews while the few honest ones showed how awful it is. Literally the concealer dried up and wouldn't even blend on a few folks. This is why there's a no return policy, cause trust me she knew! Katherine I'm Not a beauty guru. don't even know how to apply lipstick or false lashes on my own self. I just came across this video and everyone bashing her in the comment section saying "you expect these companies to make black contours?" honestly I even saw one saying "you would have to use black acrylic paint to contour that face" and I just had to laugh at the stupidity of these comments. So I just left my friendly suggestion. I didn't say companies should not create darker contours. in fact they *need* to. and if I said that, please indicate where. But for now what is she going to do? curse out various companies and whine like a baby saying "they don't make contours for me ohh" what she has to do *for now* is work with what she has. Hell! she can even advocate for this deficit in darker makeup products for darker skin tones. OR why limit her there. why does she have to wait until these big Multinational Companies capitalize on this. If she's willing, she can hatch her own research and develop formulas that cater to her skin tone and sell it to the targeted masses. She will not only be an example for younger girls to appreciate their dark skin tone, and have her own make up line, she'd be damn rich! provided that she has the necessary resources to start

@omarabrody54697 жыл бұрын
halloween socks why doesn't this response surprise me. Did I say I didn't support white women or women of other color? No. of course not. But black women and especially dark black women recieve half the support and publicity white women do so yes, we need to support them more than we already do because they're not supported enough.

@vivikolo21747 жыл бұрын
halloween socks the Media and Beauty Industry mostly focuses on white people and that is why you should especially support black women/girls with a very dark complexion because they are not equally represented as white people and they have more Problemes to adapt to beauty than most of us whites. Seriously, we need to stand up for those who can't enjoy even make up propaly just because of their Skin colour.

Some of these comments are vile. It's always the people that don't have their own picture as their dp that want to come up with that slick racist shit. Nyma, create your own brand for dark skin woman I would definitely support you! #BOMB ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

I keep saying that. It's always people without profile picture with the most nasty things to say. It just show how truly coward they are. Unbelievable!
@anac77687 жыл бұрын
FUCKING JEWISH MALE Actually you're wrong lol I'm pale as fuck and if I go into a store I can see it's much easier to find something for me than for Nyma, also don't forget white foundation mixers exist, have you seen a dark one? The dark foundation mixers are usually lighter than Nyma herself. And no, it's not business, Nyma owns some contour shades and if the companies sold them it's because they are making profit out of it or they wouldn't sell it, also around 0,7 billion people in the world have a skintone close to nyma and most brands ship worldwide sooo

Actually Nyma should use that contour stick as a highlight it looks damm good on her skin. Ana Araujo maybe that is because in the USA there is significally more white people than dark people. Companies are on the business bc of money so they would have way more range for white than for dark people.

First of all everyone in the comments that are giving false information don't know anything they're talking about. Plenty of companies can and have made makeup products for people with rich and dark skin tones. To say Kim K doesn't have the money to make these shades dark enough or that it's not possible to make makeup that dark are spewing lies. Inclusion is important and if we as black women are the biggest consumers in this industry then we should definitely be catered to. Kim could have done better and Nyma has every right to be disappointed with the product and especially the shade range.
@anac77687 жыл бұрын
Nami Gates my favourite comments are the ones that say that makeup companies wouldn't make profit out of it, yes they would, plenty of companies have contour shades for her, she even showed her favorite ones in another video, they wouldn't sell it if they didn't have profit. Most companies are just lazy to think about skintones like nyma, which they should be ashamed of. Or the ones that say that she is "the only one this dark" looks like they have never seen a black person, or that their definition of black is Kim Ks daughter lol I don't know in what world these people live but I see people with nymas skintone very often where I live

For the people who are saying that there is no contour colour for a girl this dark except for pitch black. Not true. There are actually a few brands who cater to the needs of girls with her skintone. Black doesn't work as it looks like dirt on the face, even when blended. Even if you're as dark as this girl. No one is telling Kim Kardashian to cater to the needs of really dark girls. But don't call your darkest shade deep dark, because the girl in the video is deep dark and the contourkit is not for her. That's all. 🤷🏻♀️
