Living near Whitby, Ontario, Canada I am enjoying what to me looks like spring time weather and temperature. Currently here rain, freezing rain and snow with temps at 0C and snow expected overnight. I am also enjoying the assembly of the new bridge. Thank you for the coverage!

I'm not a crane operator, but why are they using strops around the beam, when they have thoughtfully included bolt-on lifting eyes?

I presumed those orange straps were covered steel but the guys seem to throw them around quite easily? Anyone know?

i don't now what they're made out of but i do know they do not use steel at all, they're made out of a modern synthetic fabric

They are made from nylon, the outer covering is similar to your seat-belt, very strong and light, well up to the job !

@@peterjones7417 I know lorry straps are rated at 7 tons but those must be considerably stronger.
