We are dealing with criminals, homeless, drug addicts, youth, young adults who are fare evading in California on our trains too. Apparently we are getting New York style entrance & exit gates this June,2024 to help prevent people from evading paying fare to get on train (B.A.R.T). Will this prevent less crime happening on our trains in the Bay Area? Who knows, hopefully it does make a difference in keeping the homeless, drug addicts, criminals off the trains. We currently have like multiple homeless people on every train that you go on during the day or not. They don't pay their fare to get on trains, hop the gates and the Bart Employees just watch them fare evade and do nothing about it. Police don't do anything unless they commit a crime and its too late by then. I once got on train and there were drug addicts doing Meth on the train , with a mother sitting with her kid on the same train. Watching that person do drugs. It's getting out of control in California.
