I see all these people panicking here. Guys, it's 1 game. Every team good or bad is going to have these clunkers of a game. It just happens. Usually for the good teams the clunkers end up happening against the bad teams. The nice thing with this rangers team is after a bad loss they usually come back hard and blow out their next opponent. So I think that's what's going to happen in this case. Laviolette is going to have this team ready to play against Detroit tomorrow. Calm down. Stop acting like this was game 7 of a playoff series. Teams good or bad have these games where they get blown out of the building. Now is not the time to panic.

It's clear that teams have figured us out. Just a little pressure and this team cannot move the puck at all. Once the puck gets behind our D, forget about getting it back and out of the zone. We just try little feathery soft, cute passes and they get picked off all the time. I'd rather see our guys ice the puck than a chip it softly right to the defender. This was a pathetic effort.

This team uses flashy offense and a superior goaltender most nights to cover up their biggest flaw, they do not know how to defend aggressively in their zone and they are soft. Hate on rempe all you want. He may seem like a side show, but to me he establishes a level of physicality that this needs come playoff time. I'm so sick of this team thinking Miller is something special. He'll look decent one night and shitty the next night. And trouba is not captain material on the ice. Don't get me started on the falloff of Mikas game. He's clearly peaked and so has this teams cup chances if we continue to roll with this lineup.

Defensive scheme of this franchise, entirely rests on the shoulders of our goaltending for decades. Slow defense, limited skaters, backing up to the tops of the circles, letting in opponents unabated, never a body check to separate opponents from the puck. The way Florida manhandled us in the playoffs with never ending pressure hockey and hustle, is now known by the entire league, this is how to beat the Rangers! They are completely unable to play up tempo, quick pass, reactive, aggressive hockey

The Rangers have always been a finess team that never had fighters or physical tough guys, look back on their history, maybe a few times they had goons like Sandy McCarthy and Shane Churla, they are a soft franchise mostly.

Original lines were fine aside from the first line with most of the Issue being Mika. Miller has been a liability for some time now. He should be a healthy scratch and have Mancini play. Lindgren should have been shopped in the off season as he’s held together by a roll of scotch tape. I love his heart but he’s not the same. Their PP has been horrendous and predictable. We somehow look better on the PK. Like others have said we are looking like hank 2.0.

With some wins but mostly losses, this is what has been happening in the last seVerla years . Last night was a debacle. They know it. What’s amazing to me is how Lindy Ruff was arguably the worst coach for us, but each time we play his teams it seems they spank us. It’s like a curse.

How could you break up their best line: kakko Cullye chytil. How? The issue up front is Chris kreider and Mika. Been a problem for years. They do NOTHING at even strength. It’s the reason why they can’t “find” a right winger. And on defense, when are we going to tell our d to not slide around to try and block a pass? Miller is the biggest culprit. He’s another guy that could be so much better but he’s not. When are we going to start the 2nd unit on the power play and not just give them 30 seconds?

I think it's time to look at Housley. Loved him as a player, but this defense under him has been suspect now for years. They never stick to a structure, they just chase out of position all the time. They're not big and fast enough to play pressure defense. They need to zone.

@@r4vio81 not true at all. Carolina he won a Stanley cup. 3 out of the 4 years in Philly were successful seasons. Out of the 6 season in Nashville, 5 of them were successful. Out of the 3 seasons in Washington, 2 of the were successful. And led the Rangers to their best season to date in franchise history. This isn’t Gerard Gallant who’s not a proven winner and has shown to fall off after 1 season. This is purely on players for underperforming. 3rd coach last 6 years. Can’t say it’s always the coaches fault for poor play….

Laviolette has lost the plot he’s delusional along with most of the players they aren’t even close to good enough to win anything and I wouldn’t be surprised if Laviolette will get fired this season. The fact he sat chytil and Laff over clowns like Mika or Kreider just shows how delusional he is claiming the guys he stayed with had more pop in the game what an absolute joke this guy is team will never win while the soft lazy veterans get coddled by the coach and the future of the team and young stars get called out and demoted laviolette and drury embarrassingly delusional if they don’t make some changes they need a trade or something
