I am a chronic pain sufferer and also a Christian who believes that what I am going through is nothing compared to what this family has felt. It makes me feel ashamed when I complain or when I say things mean or critical because of my own lack of abilities due to the pain. But I pray, upon my death, that they use any and every healthy piece of my body to save someone like this young man. I believe God saved him for this purpose, to have another chance to live without fear, sickness or self doubt that he was feeling when he tried to kill himself. This is just one person that was saved by the donor's body and they are ALIVE because God intervened and took someone home to heaven so others, who may not have been believers of Christ have now found Gods grace.

@God Is Up Above interesting username. I will always respect science and technology as they are the reason why life saving procedures like the one featured in this video can happen in the first place. I will not support your comment about God being a mythic character. God created man, who created science and technology. It is because of God’s creations that any of this is possible. I pray that someday you encounter something or someone that will open your heart and mind to living in the light of our Heavenly Father. Whilst we don’t agree, I will still respect you as a person and respect your right to believe otherwise and your right to speak words that I do not personally agree with. I’m thankful to God for everything that I have, including the ability to have conversations like this with people all over the world. Blessing to you, fellow humans. Dr. Rodriguez is a genius. He developed this type of face transplant which is the most comprehensive in the world as it replaces the entire face and scalp and back of the head. For this reason it is the most esthetically pleasing transplant, unlike the one developed in France that only replaces part of the face and therefore leaves visible facial scars.

I do believe he was given second chance for a reason. We all make mistakes in life I have dealt with horrible depression and my thought went to suicide but I pulled myself out of it. This is absolutely amazing, he looks really great.

Oh my goodness... The donor's mother... She's incredible. 'thank you for letting my son live on.' Most people don't see things that way, but it's them helping other people live
