thanks good video. do you catch red gurnard there? seems a bit crowded there, im thinking about fishing setup for my paddle board. would plastic lures work? and what do you consider good conditions there? many thanks for any tips
@BasicFishingNZ Жыл бұрын
gurnards have been caught there. on public holdiays and weekends it can get uncomfortably crowded. i would say soft platic would work on ur paddle board especially if you go out further and if your jighead matches with the depth and current. as for condition, flat calm is usually better than a windy one

Awesome vid mate Lee is a fishing beast! Seemed challenging enough hooking and kingi and then u got to navigate through a forest of rods 😂
@BasicFishingNZ4 жыл бұрын
well first challenge was to catch enough livebaits! they kept dying so easily!

haha oh really? lol tbh it wasn't an easy day's fishing even the piper was proving to b difficult to catch!
@MaOriMaN2974 жыл бұрын
@@BasicFishingNZ yeah very hard! That morning we hooked onto a rat kingi but my mate lost it. Was his first time fishing so didnt really know how to reel it in, by the time i showed him it had wrapped itself around the pylon lol but good stuff bro! Love your videos!
@BasicFishingNZ4 жыл бұрын
oh really? haha one thing i learnt about kingfish is that its a bad idea to skull drag them especially around a wharf. always a good idea to let them run like hell to exhaust them but of course dont give them an excuse to play dirty too. thank you for your support
