Woman in the Wilderness

Woman in the Wilderness

Mike Hosking "Miriam Lancewood is hands down one of the most fascinating people I`ve met! She`s lived in the NZ bush for the last six years."
This is an old youtube channel. please subscribe to @miriamlancewoodinthewild for many new uploaded Shorts and Videos.
●○●○●○●
Miriam Lancewood lived with her husband Peter for seven years in the wilderness of New Zealand. They left civilisation in 2010 and walked into the mountains with not much more than a backpack. They roamed around like nomads, slept in a tent, cooked on a fire and Miriam learned to hunt with bow and arrow. Their observations and experiences are unique in this technological world.
Since Miriam met Peter in 2006, they have been nomadic and lived and traveled in many different countries. At present they are in the Rodopi mountains in Bulgaria, east Europe.
Miriam's memoir 'Woman in the Wilderness', became an international Bestseller. In 2020 the sequel 'Wild at heart' came out, and in 2023 she co-edited a new publication called 'Wilder Journeys'.

Agree - but the planet could support only about 5% of the current human population to live without agriculture. So let's make a ballot. 5% live this way 95% drink the kool-aid. Paradise found! All of nature in balance again within 10 years.

One Mariam has infinitetely more awareness, sensitivity, presence, worldly sophistication then host Hosdick. That he postures with his chin rested in his palm as if this treasure opportunity to be in Miriam's presence is just another so-in -so guest, is quite extraordinary. At film run time --10:29--, Hosdick throws his head back and squishes a silly smirk , as Miriam honestly & modestly fields his unsophisticated remark- 'do you have any idea whats going on in this world right now' ? Yes they do , of course, that's exactly why they out there finding a stunningly healthy way to be living & sharing their love for life. Hosdick ought to be down in the parking garage punching time tickets, far from the presence of such stunning individuals.

Interesting and challenging life approach to say the least. A great example on how people can live more naturally and with less materialism. Wondering if you have given thought to living in one spot in nature with a more stable shelter/home, still off grid and living off the land but with the practical convenience of a homestead? Fresh water, lumber, garden, small live stock (chickens/goats/sheep), combined might offer most of your chosen life style, while more practically meeting your daily and long term needs. Best of luck in all you do!

I've seen a few interviews with her, I just can't believe how comfortable she seems. You'd think someone who spends the majority of their time away from others would be like a rabbit in the headlights in a situation like this, right?

She is sought out by reporters, as they find her and her way of living more than interesting. She is a teacher who has written a book that she was asked to write. She is kind enough to leave her way of living and her husband to take the interviews that are asked of her. No hair nor make up artist here. This a woman quite confidant with her life choices. Everyone could learn a lesson about living a healthy, cleaner life from this teacher. One look at her and it is obvious she has made the right choices.

Coals are kept in a Dutch oven type situation.. Well that's what we do here in Tasmania.. Some people who belong to a certain tribe in Africa have kept same fire going back for generations..last example is those bricks that are used in bbq,.. Imagine keeping them hot 2/4at a time?.. Not hard..
