Kia ora, we don't do cloud seeding in New Zealand. As a heads up, there is some more rain expected for you this weekend as the next area of low pressure runs towards us. Have a good week.

We need rain in hamilton

What a dry run it has been in Hamilton - just 9mm of rain reported so far in January (average for the time of year is 77mm!) A few showers for you on Friday morning but I think the next real rain will be later on Saturday.

Kia ora, thanks for the feedback. What are you most interested in and how do you like to see it? We are always keen to try new things to help tell the weather story.

why are nights cold with global warming???????????
@MetServiceNZ12 күн бұрын
Kia ora, It has been a very cold start to year, thanks to the persistence of cold air coming up from the south. Even with a generally warming trend (2024 was globally the warmest on record) we can still see colder periods of weather. Temperatures this week are set to return to something more January like.
