I heard that they are no longer making 85 packs, but will instead install a 90 pack and software limit it. Software-limited packs have some nice side-effects.

Correct -- I did this video about 3 times in the car and just couldn't keep my head straight and finish it during my normal drive time, so I can't remember if I said it in THIS version or one of the other ones (!!) but yes: New build packs are a 100 with one module missing, so they're about 90. There are mixed anecdotes as to how much it costs to unlock the additional range, so YMMV by quite a lot -- but even as a "85" (which was really only ever an 81) it would give you overhead on a full charge and the tapering when supercharging.
