I think this case is amazing, it has every feature that you could ever dream of having. Though, I think I like the 410 a bit more aesthetically, it is slightly different, but I think it is more fine-tuned in my mind.

Late to comment; I've had mine and been using it since 2015- still love it, still works great, still lights up- still has a ton of room for anything I want to install, and I personally think it looks really cool. I have the color as the one he's got here and it reminds me of something out of a sci-fi movie when you use blue led's with it.

This was one of the first Linus Tech Tip vids i ever watched back when it came out. I got the case because of this review! the top and front has yellowed considerably over the years, but Its served me pretty damn well. 10/10 would get a case recommended by Linus again.

Wow, awesome case. I have the original Phantom, which is great... but now I'm jealous of this new 820. I/O lighting is a brilliant addition as well as taller feet for bottom clearance, easier dust filter removal, tilt-able internal fans, ability to turn off fans, SD card reader, and the lighting effects.

I am not a huge fan either. But the 900d might be a little easier to build in if you are not an experienced builder. I would personally go with the Phantom 820.

No no no, I've heard from multiple sources that the 900d is impossible to build in because it's so huge and cables don't reach and stuff.

The power supply plugs into the 4 pin molex which gives the fans power then you plug the fans into the fan connectors which were labeled F,R,T and the speeds are controlled by the buttons on the front

This was a VIOLENT unboxing. Smashed packing foam, electrocution, stabbed in the foot... not to mention the sheer weight of the case making Linus grunt like his back was going to explode each time he moved the bloody thing. Bravo for not killing anyone.

Mine arrived yesterday (black version). I can't really describe how damned BIG the thing is. I had the original Phantom and it makes the original Phantom look kinda like a mid tower case! I'm waiting for the two G10 and two X41 to arrive to go with my 7870 in Crossfire. Finally (in about 4 weeks) the X61 will arrive. I'm quite looking forward to building it. It really is an awesome case.

Man, I want a mix of the phantom 630, 820 and switch 810. With the 2 ssd mounts in the back, side fan and the fan controller from the 630, a 360 radiator, the usb ports, and lighting effects from the 820 and cool looking from the 810

SD Card reader is a nice touch. Kinda wish my case had one, but I like it more than the Phantom in terms of aesthetic. Hard drive sleds are nicer, as well, in my case and I kinda like that the PSU and two hard drive bays at the bottom (which, in case you're wondering, contain the only two sleds) are covered by a solid metal cover/cage. Keeps the case organized and makes it easier to hide wires. I have a Z9 Neo from Zalman, for the record. I was considering one of the Phantom models before I found my case and almost instantly fell in love. I keep finding out about its features which makes me love it even more (stuff I didn't notice before I bought it, like the optimization of air flow for the PSU by having vents on the side and a sound-proof pad on the front door).

This case is huge and has the best airflow I've seen so far,I switched the side fan to the top so I have two 200mm exhaust up there,one 200mm in front intake along with a bottom 120mm intake. My cpu idles at 30c and my gpu at 25c. I never see gaming temps rise above 50c and full benchmark temps never go over 65c, and I run a 9900k and a 2080 gaming OC Even 8 years later this case is worth it's msrp,the built in hue lighting is the best I've seen yet and the gun metal grey which I own is so damn sexy and clean,only other case this beautiful is the Coolermaster Cosmo 1000 which I own also,but the 820 has way more room for cable management.

hate to be the one pointing this out but that case was broken there is in fact 4 led areas on the case i/o, inside, fan controller and around the handle of the door. the door handle led's were broken on this case

I have a question about this case, because Linus wasn't clear on exactly whether or not you can turn off the LEDs completely. He showed us you can turn off the internal LEDs, but what about the ones on the top & front/side?

You can actually replace the side panel with a full windowed one from the switch 810... however finding an extra side window might be hard

i work in retail doing inventory freight flow and pallets aren't always protected. Depends on if the person shrink wrapping it is doing a good job. But it is better than shipping ground.

If you want a full tower, go with the Phantom if you're on a budget. If you're willing to spend a little more, get the 820, and finally, if you don't think you need all that space, get the 410. It's got tons of room for a mid tower.

im guessing he had the camera set up in a way where it was only detecting/recording audio from the left, which is why I would hope more videos like this would be uploaded with Mono Audio Format (No directional audio) so that its the same in either ear.

it's the protective plastic. It sticks cause it is staticly charged. Plastic does an excellent job at retaining a charge buildup, and the metal is an excellent conductor. Add that up, and you have a great static electricity generator. This isn't really a good thing, i would hate for someone to discharge onto their brand new ram.

You could've digitally blurred out shirt like you see in rock band interviews and footage of some public type events. ;) I find it entertaining when I notice that. On that topic, one of my old hobbies is recreational OHV's and I have an old video in which two the sponsors were Land Rover and Superwinch. Well, Land Rover's use Warn for their winch that they offer through their dealers, so the Land Rover in the video, of course, had a Warn winch on it. Since the video was also sponsored by Superwinch, they put a Superwinch sticker on the Rover's window and used electrical tape to cover up the Warn logo on the winch, lol. The advertising games and conflicts make for interesting outcomes sometimes.

Why is everyone saying this is the same thing as the original Phantom with lights? This case in actuality shares it's mechanical resemblance with the Switch 810, they both use the same motherboard tray and overall chassis structure. This thing has way more flexibility than the regular Phantom.
