This was an absolutely fantastic review! Definitely going to be ordering this case in my new build now. I'm going for and SLI/crossfire atx build and this just looks perfect with all the space and cooling. Thankyou very much HTL!

Very good point. I am going to install a dual bay res and play around with it a bit, as well as ask NZXT directly to see if there is a solution.

An answer from me personally, as someone who has reviewed and owned basically every AiO and uses a Phantom 630 - The 630 has the room to drop an NZXT X60 right in, and is one of the few cases that has that ability. Take advantage of it. If you can drop in a much better performing and MUCH quieter cooler for the same price, why would you possibly use the inferior cooler?

So for the fan hub you have all the connections on there but then what do you connect the hub to?

Great video! One omission: I wish you had tried connecting the SATA power and data cables to the SSD's on the back of the motherboard. There is very little clearance, especially when using one of the SATA power connectors in the middle of a longer SATA power cable.
@HiTechLegion

The Phantom 530 is a slightly smaller version of this case. The build quality is identical, but the 630 has a little more flexibility in component options (especially cooling) simply because it is larger.

That depends on the PSU you choose, and it's cable lengths. I had no issue with be quiet! DPP 10, Cooler Master V Series, Fractal Design Newton R3 or High Power Astro Series in this case.

You have to unclip the optical drive/bay reservoir so it slides forward a couple of inches (or pulls out completely).

I have this case and I must admit ,,the case is AWESOME,,,the best case I purchased since the last computer I got 33mhz Intel (seriously yes it was 33mhz Intel cpu at that time) I prefer that side slide door like that, additional airflow better than the look :). NZXT was nice enough to send me that slide door with 200MM fan WITHOUT charge! I wonder if we can mount 280mm AIO push-pull config?

I'm assuming that the NEW Phantom 630 Windowed Edition is this modular as well? If there are still those SSD mounts on the back of the mobo tray, I see myself putting maybe a 480GB SSD for Steam/gaming, and a 240GB SSD for booting Windows back there, then having the one hard drive cage for a 4TB HDD would be ideal, then the rest being airflow. Seems rather interesting. Might give this case a try for sure.

i heard some people shave the little tabs off the sides but the only thing is you wont be able to put the 5.25 covers back on.
@HiTechLegion
@HiTechLegion 11 жыл бұрын
I actually realized that several days after the video was done. I didn't go back to mention it simply because of how easy it is to remove the 5.25's, so it makes it pretty much a non-factor. Also, it isn't an unusual situation, and the necessity for pulling off the nose after the build is done will be very limited.

Just had a question with ram compatibility while having the phanteks cooler installed. What ram did you use in the video (if any)? And would I have to use low profile ram with this cooler/case combo? Thanks!

Could there be any problems with cabling? Like the cable from the PSU is too short to reach the motherboard? Or does that all depend on what you choose.

The case really plays no part in the RAM compatibility. I used ADATA XPG Xtreme in this video, but have used taller RAM than that with the TC14PE. Slightly taller than standard RAM will work - Mushkin Frostbyte style, Patriot Viper, etc. It is the larger RAM heatsinks that are an issue.

Will a Kraken X60 fit on the bottom (tubing closest to the rear of the case) with an AX1200i PSU installed? Also will the tubing reach the CPU from the bottom with the fans mounted below the radiator?

The answer from me personally, as one who reviewed the case as well as just about every CPU cooler around - "Who cares? The NZXT Kraken X60 bolts right into the Phantom 630. It is a MUCH better performer, much quieter and costs almost exactly the same." Basically what I am saying...would you buy a new Bentley and ask if you could install cloth Honda Accord seats?

Samer Youssef fans get plugged into the fan headers on the motherboard or to a fan controller which is on the back of the case and should have a board
@gng13

Samer Youssef The fans come already connected to the fan controller. The fan controller has a 4-pin molex that plus into the PSU.

Please reply. how do i get the front panel off?? I am pulling as hard as i can and it is not even moving. im trying to install a h100i please help
@gng13
@gng13 10 жыл бұрын
I have had a couple of these cases, and never had any issues getting the nose off. Just a simple tug on the bottom as I did here at 10:50 got it off. However, i did have one that had issues with the pressure fit in the top. I had to squeeze the pressure fit together from behind the mounting area. You may need to try that. As much as I am curious as to why you would be putting an H100i in a case that can take a Kraken X60 bolted right in....I am even more curious as to why you would need to take the nose off to do it.
@soxi_
@soxi_ 10 жыл бұрын
I heard that h100i is a good choice for water cooler. but from what it seems i need to take off the top panel to put some screws on the top to place the rad. to open the top dont you have to open the front?
@gng13
@gng13 10 жыл бұрын
You should take the front off to take the top off, but the top will come off if you pull out the top of the front a little bit. As far as the H100i....middling performance, loud and expensive. The Kraken X60 is limited by the cases that it fits in, but offers significantly better performance and less noise at the same price point. I won't even go into the open loop options at only $20 more than an H100i....

Carl Erickson Straight cables are no issue since they are not wider than the drive. 90 degree SATA cables can be used, but should be avoided in this type of mounting.
