Great case, bought mine in 2010 around the time I built my AMD FX 8 core build. Still have the case as I tend to keep cases and use them for multiple builds and it has served me well.

wow such a gorgeous case, and a well thought out interior. The implementation of cable management and fan placement along with - consideration for dust filters... so gorgeous. love it.

Still using this case in 2023. Currently houses at least the fourth build I have put in there and it's been fan-tastic all these years. Not an issue at all keeping things cool. Finally got around to a water cooler for it this summer and of course I lost the radiator brackets long ago. But I also realized this case wasn't meant for today's AIO water coolers. This one expected you to route the hoses through the holes by disconnecting them first, which AIOs usually warn against. And there is no way to top mount an AIO radiator without taking the hoses off. I am going to have to rethink what I want to do. Luckily, the case is very cool with air cooling alone. I don't really neeeed water cooling.

I think I must have a newer edition of this case, because mine has 1 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0 on the top panel, as well as eSata and headphone/mic.

It has an amazing airflow, you can control each fan to turn on/off, theres around five or six incuded fans, so i dont think you'll run dry on that.

Great video man! I was searching everywhere on youtube and most of these people post half-ass reviews of the NZXT Phantom! I was trying to figure out if the front would take a 120mm fan and you explained it...thanks!

I got one of these from newegg about 2 months ago, great buy. Costs around $120 but comes with the same features as most of the more expensive full towers. Pretty sexy also

I got this one, exactly as the video one. I don't know the price abroad, but here in Brazil it costs nearly $ 300 dollars, it isn't cheap, but I'm so satisfied with this case. :) Recommended it.

The top optional fan is supposed to be intake not exhaust fan, they put a filter there for that, although I think it would be weird to have an intake fan right next to the exhaust fan since it would just pull the hot air coming out from the exhaust fan and push it back inside!!
@PJawZK14 жыл бұрын
Really nice review of a sweet pc case. I like that you talked calmly and clearly. Not as most other reviewers, who talks with 1000 words per second and are more or less yelling for some reason. It would have been nice to see some components built in to it, but whatever. Can check that with som pics or videos over the internet :) All in all a thumbs up for you ;)
@crazedimp32114 жыл бұрын
The optional 200mm fan on top was meant to be used as another intake which is why they had a dust filter for it.

YES! I am so happy they made so much space for the fan and that they made it large enough to support larger power supply and fans. They even made it to support 120 up front... I ordered two for 160. I'll gut one for the fans and vents. And save one for another build. I just hope I can dump my gpu and cpu all in one fans through the bottom where it doesn't look too crazy. I'M SO READY!

The NZXT phantom is quiet, however it still depends on the fans you buy for the case and cpu. The fans that come with the case are quiet.

Have this case and love it. Replaced the fan controller with a Sentry II though. I also removed the small drive bay, was blocking the ir flow more then Anything else
@cavemanleet14 жыл бұрын
@Vaughnlesterinoz totally agree, normally hate the weird creations CM, antec and nzxt come up with compared to the simple and geometric exterior designs from lian li but this one is actually quite appealing. Only thing I would like to see changed would be the large hdd cage in the front, make that two hdd cages stacked so a rad could be installed on the floor.

Your audio change 5 or 6 times. Stars off with soft, suddenly switches to business monotone, then quiet with annoying buzz spikes, loud and clear near the end, and then back to buzzing but with a louder volume. lol In any case thanks for the overview. Was informative.

Making me want a new case, I'm not fond of everything with that case...but it's not bad at all. Especially like the loads of fans you can put on it since mine's pretty loud having 3 Yate loon 88cfm fans at I think 40dB each. Noise doesn't bother me too much, but I'm sure it's nice having a quiet pc. For me in the end since mine wouldn't allow that many fans it was noise over less air flow.

@JoshPelekaiOfficial 3 extras. 1 - 200mm (top), 1 - 200 or 230 mm (side), and 1 - 140mm (front). It comes with 1 - 200 mm (top), 2 - 120 mm (side), and 1, 140 mm (rear). So you'll have a total of 7 fans.

The idle Temperature for the CPU is around 49-50 Celcius when 1 fan is Exhaust (the fan above cpu and closest to the I\O Panel) while other is Intake. But have made some changes recently and found surprisingly good results. Now both the fans are Intake and the Temps are 40-41 or even less sometimes for d CPU. Well i know NZXT has preferred both the 200mm fans to be exhaust but it didnt worked out well for me. So I just wanted to share my XP :) thx

I have my NZXT Pahantom from 2011, black + orange. Orange line oddly somhow get darker over yers, interesting. Few weaks back I replaced rear 120mm withn new Noctua 120mm original start to have ocasional werd vibration. And thats it. Thre diferent PC alredy lived in this shell. That hole under CPU is so big that I can replace CPU under panel for diferent cooler suport without dismantle whole mobo. Case is big enough to hause El Macho X2 CPU cooler, even this one could be simply "plug and fan" :D without removing mobo. It was great product. Thx for a nice video.

@ysflightman I know how you feel- I am ordering this case, but I find that i would want black for the same reasons you mentioned + led fans would look cooler on it. The white, though, will never attract fingerprints visually, and it does look pretty freaking amazing. I am still torn...

You're a bit confused about how these features connect to the motherboard. The usb ports use a usb header on a motherboard, they do not use the standard usb ports on the back of the computer. The same goes for the headphone/microphone ports, these connect to your motherboard using an AAFP cable. The headphones/microphone use your onboard audio card. Sound cards are built into many motherboards. In short the case doesn't include a sound card because good motherboards have them built in.

Would an additional 200mm fan attached to the side of the case get in the way of a Corsair H80 Liquid CPU cooler?
@RahuXVII14 жыл бұрын
@oldelpaso678 Well, I don't have this case, but it supports CPU coolers up to 180mm in height without the fan on it. So unless you're able to find a 200/230mm fan that is less than 2 cm thick, you won't be able to have the large side fan on it.
