I wonder if we can grate the mochi like a block of cheese to spread on top of the pizza :D It must've given a really nice chewy consistency to the pizza without the greasiness of most cheeses.

This looks great. I was thinking mochi is pretty tasteless but great melted texture. I'm going to try mixing nutritional yeast to the mochi as it has a cheesy flavour.

It is actually cheaper (or at least can be) - you are not buying expensive cheeses or meats. Only nuts, seeds, grains, fruits and vegetables. Only processed foods are expensive, but it is better for you to cook unprocessed foods. From processed foods I'm buying only soy milk, miso paste, tofu and tomato puree.

+Pearlie Grace No, mochi is not a dessert though it can be traditionally paired with red bean, sesame etc. The mochi he is using can be used to make sweet mochi but he's using it to replicate the chewy and stretchy texture of cheese. The mochi block originally has no flavour.
