The Lord asked me to sing this song in my Non Denominational church. I will though I don’t usually solo. In listening to this and other SA songs just balling; the Lord set my perspective right…He corrected me in great love, “Daughter, your covenant is with me…not The Army. It has always been with me.” He’s so good

That bass of course reminds me of Daddy. You could always tell it was him playing, especially with the runs. Such sweet memories ❤

Did you have a brass band in your corps? I'm in the Salvation Army, but my corps has totally modern music.

Yes & no. I played baritone, and coronet. But ended up as the pianist for 15 years. Also lead timbrels for 3 years. Quite unusual for a guy, but there was no one else.

The Army has some of the best brass bands in the world.

When it was the centenary of Rochdale Citadel the corps marched through the town up the hill to the Parish Church. The senior band led off then, slap bang in the middle of town the YP Band, in which I played E flat bass, struck up this song.It was one of those hair raising moments. The entire corps Marching along to O Boundless Salvation. Just the simple hymn tune arrangement played by these youngsters in the swinging sixties. Hells foundations must have been shaking. Our Saviour rejoicing. Simple arrangement occasionally imperfectly played and believe me, the Staff Band could not have moved the Spirit more.

My favourite song it was sung at my fathers funeral at Easter of this year. Was also a request at our farewell meeting before we moved to the other part of the country. It’s a killer for the band though if all 7 verses are played 😝

As and ex salvo, I haven't lost my faith in Christ, just in the army. I've seen too much in my corp to ever think of being part again. Too much theft of property & money by staff, and denial of help for the needy because of lack of said property & funds. Turned my stomach.

JF////// I was an officer once but was a 'fish out of water'. No spiritual input as promised. Then I found out Jesus was a composite person, so left Christianity. Growth means you sometimes have to leave the past behind.

The founders song just watched a interview with General Linda Bond screemimg get back to basics make the crest the central focus of the hall oh and the bonnet needs to be revived it goes make me laugh that the Bible says women must have their head covered in church yet the men always have their cap on!new and Old Testament gone wrong
@Finecty7 жыл бұрын
What I was trying to say was getting back to basics as Linda bond portrayed before her disappearance the Army will grow
