It's really just a feel-good movie. Makes twenty times more sense when you actually read the Odysseus (I can't actually imagine what the movie must've been like for someone who hasn't. Probably very hectic). Definitely not one of Coens best works, but as they never disappoint it was a fun ride anyway.

One thing about family members who sing, since they grew up in the same home, with the same people, they sing with the same vocal inflections and timing that make those beautiful harmonies just as tight as they can be. Even the little pauses sound as though they come from one voice. Awesome.

The acting was great, Clooney never did anything before or will he ever do anything to top this performance, the entire cast made their characters so very real...and then the music...hard to pick a favorite...from Jailhouse Now to Fly Away to Man of Constant Sorrow, it was all just fabulous....all so cleverly written. Thought I would die laughing at Delmar and Clooney does comedy very well, too.....i have seen this dozens of times mbut never get tired of it!!!

I enjoyed this movie when it came out, but as time passes, I view it as somewhat extraordinary. Hollywood being obsessed with CGI comic book movies, this film stands apart as a very unique piece of art. I first saw the three fugitives as the stars of the film; I now see the context / environment as the star, with the three men moving, bewildered, through it. The Coen brothers took more chances in this film than most directors do in a lifetime.

I was in College, my 2nd year….i saw it 4 times. By myself, on a date (very good date), took my parents later and my grandma (she never spoke English). But she hadn’t ever been to the movies in decades but she enjoyed it. To this day, watching the love feels like the 1st time I saw it. Other than Pulp Fiction, and The Abyss this is one of the few movies I can watch over and over without getting tired and bored. I was mind boggling to me on why nobody knew about it. And how empty the movie theatre was…..until the Grammys. When BOb DYlan appeared and ot won a bunch of awards for its music…then it became a smash then it became success. It was a slow burn, just like the Matrix, like Pulp Fiction and even like The Big Lebowski. No a days if a movie doesn’t make any friction it gets pulled. Back then movies were playing in theatres for months….and then they grew an audience. Now they get a month maybe two and then to streaming. People still want and care about movies like this….but movie executives only care about the bottom line.

This was a fun movie to work on. I was hired as a military coordinator to assist with the choreographers in the "rally" scene. It was quite ridiculous, actually. Great memories of the crew!

@John LaFever - I didn't act in the film, I helped coordinate the scene. They needed the guys to march.
