When this came out, you could instantly feel the focus of pomade shifting. I still haven't tried it but I plan on grabbing the equivalent "Multi-Purpose Pomade" at some point.

The Multi-Purpose is great and my favorite. I feel like it styles better plus it’s water resistant (good for muggy days). Though, you need shampoo to get it out, but it’s a good trade off.

Are you always applying pomade on damp hair, even it's waterbased/gel type? Was your hair damp in this video? I'm asking because i've started applying pomade like you on your video "how to apply pomade" and it works for me, i like it. You're doing a good job and your knowledge about pomades is huge, your videos are very helpful. Keep it up :)

is O'Douds Multipurpose pomade is the same as second version of Water based pomade?

O'Douds Multipurpose is the current version of the original Water Based pomade, and the now "Standard Pomade" is a different formula with less shine, less slickness, and easier washout

Actually the Multi-Purpose pomade carries the mantle of this Water Based pomade, it's the closest thing to it despite being a reform. The Standard Pomade is something different altogether. O'Douds just renamed it to "Multipurpose" to not cause confusion with the "Standard Pomade", which is water soluble and less shiny.

totally agree! it's one of my absolute favorites. actually, it's been some months since i finished my jar but i will definitely purchase another one later this year. right now i'm fine without it tho cause i still have 2 products which are somewhat comparable and imo at least as good: the insubmersible by flagship and craigmont's pomade paste. the insubmersible also has kind of a shitty breakdown but it styles super amazingly. and craigmont's pomade paste might just be my favorite pomade out my collection right now. it's such a bliss to use. (u probably used the insubmersible but have u actually tried craigmont's pomade paste?) also, i still have o'douds blue summer which i reeeally like. but yea, looking forward to buy a jar of this amazing pomade soon again. especially with that newish pretty design :)

So O'Douds goes for $20 per tin and gives you the exact same look that you'd get for a $3 tin of Murray's Superior pomade. I think I'll stick with Murray's and save $17, and not have to deal with the dried out hair that chemically loaded water base pomades give me. By the way, your hair doesn't look better than when you have Murray's in it.
