As someone who spent years doing youth theater, these boy sopranos have always floored me. It is *hard* to get a kid to understand stuff like dynamics, pitch and blending, and these kids are all absolute pros at it. I can't imagine how hard they work to get to this level of mastery. I feel honored to even get to listen to this. :')

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth Long lay the world in sin and error pining Till He appeared and the Soul felt its worth A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices! O night divine, the night when Christ was born O night, O night divine! O night, O night divine! Led by the light of faith serenely beaming With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming Now come the wisemen from the Orient land The King of kings lay thus lowly manger In all our trials born to be our friend He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger Behold your King! Before him lowly bend! Behold your King! Before him lowly bend! Truly He taught us to love one another His law is love and His gospel is peace Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother And in his name all oppression shall cease Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we With all our hearts we praise His holy name Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we His power and glory ever more proclaim! His power and glory ever more proclaim!

We find more sentimental associations with the Eternal, All-knowing, All-loving One taking on the finite-ness of our humanity at Christmas in the form of a beautiful, helpless, needy, totally dependent baby (the Word not yet able to speak), but that baby had to grow up, and be crucified, and die, and rise again from the dead. The Crucifixion-Resurrection is the greatest gift that our Father has given us. Jesus talked always about his "hour." "My 'hour' has not yet come," that "hour" referring to his passion and death, and resurrection--FOR US.

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining, It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth. Long lay the world in sin and error pining. Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices! O night divine, O night when Christ was born; O night divine! O night, O night divine! Led by the light of faith serenely beaming, With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand. So led by light of a star is sweetly gleaming, Here came the wisemen from the Orient land. The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger; In all our trials born to be our friend. He knows our need, to our weakness, no stranger, Behold your King! Before him lowly bend! Behold your King! Our King, before him bend! Truly He taught us to love one another, His law is love, and His gospel is peace. Chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother. And in his name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we, With all our hearts we praise His holy name. Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we, His power and glory ever more we shall proclaim! His power and glory ever more proclaim!

You know that there are many versions of christmas songs music arrangement you could get when searching in youtube. Nowadays some musicians (incld me) love to make "pop" or "jazzy" arrangement of those songs using some music instruments. But, I couldn't find beauty more than what this cathedral choir did : the choir voice, the pipe organ voice, ambience of the cathedral room, those things made me feel peaceful and made me remember that this is how we should celebrate christmas, in way of simpleness and majesty, like what Jesus did when he came to this world thousand years ago for you and me.

@@mikecondy6010 Muslims would not typially be allowed to listen to this type of music. It stirs emotions that can cause people to commit acts of sin or violence. Or it can stir feelings of peace. Muslims believe that only the koran should be allowed to do those things. I live in Egypt, and have traveled the middle east. Seldom will find muslims listneing to music in their homes, or even in their cars. There are some slightly more liberal Egyptian muslims that will listen to music in their cars (though they are few and far between). But you will never hear music being played in their homes.
