I actually think this is O'Sullivan's most picture-perfect 147. After the first black he was inch perfect on practically every shot. Never had to consider playing for a different colour or pull out a great shot to keep it going at any stage.
@rs-qt1qg3 жыл бұрын
This is a bread and butter 147 for most players. The best 147's are the ones you actually have to develop reds. The one against Mark Williams in the 2008 WC is his best one of all time IMO.
@chriswilliamson76943 жыл бұрын
@@rs-qt1qg erm 0:05, 1:15, 2:52 and 5:05 are all examples of developing reds. Just because they weren't on a cushion doesn't mean it doesn't count. It's the simplicity of the break which helps make it so smooth and picture-perfect anyway. Besides, I'd question how 'bread and butter' any 147 can be when it's done in the deciding frame of a UK semi final, against one of your great career rivals, having trailed for most of the match.....

Moments like this are something I love about Snooker. At some point, rather early on, Mark Selby recognizes that he's lost the match, and he's processing that. A maxi at 8 minutes and forty seconds 😱 and to have not one but TWO reds a few inches from the blue ball line, in a maximum attempt is even more impressive because the LENGTH the cue has to travel in those late shots on route down to the black. The red along the cushion however is the most underrated of all though. Most PROS miss that shot 8 times out of 10. But he never breaks his stride .. his rhythm is flawless.. And to do it at such a pressure moment - and against a tuff opponent.. Ronnie O’Sullivan is simply a one-of-a-kind athlete.. like Ted Williams in his prime: the Greatest Hitter Who Has Ever Lived. Simply the Best 🏆💪☺️

It’s half way along the six foot rail, and NOT glued to the cushion.. just a millimeter off. DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW DIFFICULT THAT SHOT IS TO MAKE?!?!?! 😱 Everyone talks about the flashy shots that players make but it’s THOSE shots I appreciate the most!!! And if he misses it, loses the frame / set / match 100%. Just unbelievable watching him at full flow in the peak of his career!!! 👏👏👏☺️👌

True as time goes on. The pressure doesn't bother him like when he forst started to perform at high level in the 90s. Since his 2004 championship. It seems like the pressure games don't bother him much anymore. And performed better under pressure. Also his longevity is put down too. Other players playing in a lot of tournaments to get the money prize. Which I understand. Ar that time ronnie was loaded and paced himself during the season. And other top players burned them selves out by the time world championship came a long. That's the main reason his won 7 and Higgins has 4 worlds. Trump had the tools to dominate like hendry and Davis and ronnie. But he chose to burn himself out for money over world championship. Can't blame him back then. But now he should pace himself as he has a lot of money. He just became the 2rd player to hit 1000 centuries.
