Who knew so much stuff could hit a grounded opponent?
99.9% of the time I constrain myself to only featuring 'true' combos in these videos. Meaning that, after the first hit, the opponent can't escape the sequence. This has meant that any showcase of OTGs in SFV have been extremely limited. For this video I wanted to prioritise showing off extended OTG sequences and rarely seen move properties over truly inescapable combos.
The opponent can quick rise whenever they hit the ground and the OTG follow ups won't connect but who cares? 49-Hit Abigail combo! Woooooo!!!!

most OTG moves can only be done if your opponent doesn't quick or backrise and chooses to stay on the ground until they automatically get up. to be fair to abigail though, his are the most likely to happen in a real match but its still so rare lol. mostly because its a hard read for a wakeup option that is used probably less than 10% of the time at any rank besides rookie/bronze.

Off-topic for a moment, there are some moves and animations I didn't even know were in this game, like that repeated slam you did with Abigail at the end of his first combo or the fact that Vega could climb the wall in the background. Back on-topic, I now see there are a lot more OTG moves than I had previously known. I had only known about Kage, Akuma, and Urien, and since the three of them are evil characters/villains, I figured that it was an intentional design choice to only let characters like them hit opponents when they're down, but that theory doesn't make sense with characters like Akira, E. Honda, or Chun-Li.

Wow there were a few more OTGs than I thought, but still nowhere near as many as there SHOULD be. Moves that should otg: Falke's heel is cool but her air shotgun and ground shotgun should also otg Poison's ground whip (she should also get more air mp and air mk juggles) Akuma's super Mika's mic Dhalsim's VT1, his air VT2 when it goes down, his super when it goes down Birdie's ground VT2 chain I think that's all the OTGs that make sense We should all go spam the directors on Twitter for one last balance patch because there's so much potential still untapped in the game, and no new trials with the last patch?! Cheap!

you can in fact do some inescapable OTG combos from any attacks that do hard knockdowns, but they're extremely niche and rarely worth going for. Crush Counter sweep into Urien's CA is *sometimes* useful

I think OTGs are mostly escapable because the opponent can just quick rise to block it. I think Kage does have an OTG combo which is CC sweep -> VT cancel -> V Skill 2

@@skyslashnova4308 A lot of OTGs can be done after Crush Counter sweep (forces HKD) into VT cancel. For example Urien can VTC his sweep, if it CHs he can just dash up super for free if he wants to. Opponent is in HKD so they can't rise from it.

If the opponent does any tech option (quick stand, roll back) of which you’ll basically always do one rather than let your opponent have better oki, you cannot OTG them.
