I first discovered Rajeev Menon only during Minsara Kanavu....and the visual sensibilities immediately grabbed me..... It was well after AR had come on the scene and the film's soundtrack blew me, as did Rajeev's visual treatment... This clearly is among the best episodes where one gets a glimpse of the master at work.... My moment of the episode.."AR isn't the one who's got it all figured out but someone who's constantly looking to discover and put things together along the way"....A Learn and Be Curious lesson for life for those of us who think we got it all figured and covered. Bravo!! One request. AR well before his film days had collaborated with Malgudi Shubha on an album called Set me free....It also had some of ARs earlier collaborators.. Magnasound released it, or so i think. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Full of happiness and gratitude that we got to hear so much great stuff again from Rajeev Menon. 18 mins just passed by and it’s already over. So many interesting things and waiting for more to hear from them. Need to again look at this whole interview from the beginning. There’s a lot to process in his words, not that I don’t know much of it but then the eloquence and enthusiasm with which Rajeev narrated is too infectious and worth a million times watch! ✅Well, coming to the moment of the day, I feel personally it’s more apt to call him as the Mozart of Madras or even as God of Music than as Sachin of music! Both are great in their resp. fields and are also been there almost at the same time but it’s better to entitle Rahman with musical stalwarts than from other fields and I i feel comparing him with Mozart as a way better honour than this. ✅If still Rahman has to be called as Sachin of music then the vice versa should also hold true i.e., Sachin too should be called as Rahman of cricket. Otherwise, it looks like putting Sachin over Rahman than calling them equals! Hence forth, I i don’t think it’s a fitting tribute to call Rahman as Sachin of music!! ✅

For me moment of the video was when he pushed "Tu hi re" from sounding like a ghazal to what it is today. While it wasn't meant to be a highlight moment it reeks of genius. Getting someone like Hari ji to do it and that the song became what it became because of this. I had goosebumps when Rajeev ji took us back to that process. I was like a rewind to that moment in history.

I loved the last two episodes where Rajiv Menon has given so much info about ARR that we didn’t know. Looking forward to the next one. I have always said that Sachin and ARR are so similar and glad to see Rajiv say the same thing. Isaipuyal Rahman sir's music is the sound of 3 generations already - we should consider ourselves fortunate he was born in India and, even better, in Tamil Nadu. I was tapping my feet and nodding my head to this legend's music even before I knew his name - I have vivid memories of 'Kadhalan' and 'Bombay' songs playing at my neighour's house every evening and I'd groove to this from a distance. That's the 1st time I heard his music and I was obviously very young and everything at that age you don't care for the mind behind a work of art, you only care about the output, and my word, what an output that was - it was insanely addictive and stirred emotions in you one couldn't describe. But that memory is so beautiful and so etched in me and that defines in many ways my childhood - Rahman sir's music forms the soundtrack of my childhood. I'm sure there are millions out there like me who have the same story. This is the real genius and greatness of Rahman sir - he has defined modern India for generations and for this fact alone, his name would be etched in letters of gold when modern India's history is written. vaazhga isaipuyal
