Update?
@roscoe77727 ай бұрын
Trumpet playing is more about air velocity as opposed to air volume . Air velocity is controlled by how strong the corners of your mouth are when your playing. To test out what I'm talking about play a G on staff as quietly as possible like a whisper but through the front hole center top and bottom teeth meet while doing applying as little pressure as possible between your lips and mouthpiece and only breathing through your nose. If you are doing this correctly the corners of your mouth will start burning and shaking. Practice longtones and capped quarter notes while ascending and while only breathing through your nose very little pressure and don't reset your embouchure. Make sure you finish your sessions doing this with peddle tones. If you just increase your volume without training the corners of your mouth your going to end up playing flat.
@danieldunstone61287 ай бұрын
You posibly don't need to if it's already strong from trumpet

@@roscoe7772 lol… yeah.. I’m a pretty damn good trumpet player… with a solid, yet weak double high C, but have extra fast double and triple to tongue abilities …….and damn fine ghost tongue abilities, but thanks for the amateur advice for others!! But fyi… breath control is still super important… and IMO., tongue arch mixed with air control is even more important than one single concept. You’re totally wrong in insisting it’s only about “corners” or how u breathe, or long tones……. Or one single thing… it’s all of the above and more

As a side note gentleman, the activated abdominal muscles you feel when breathing with the device is the exact sensation taking a “singing” breath should feel like in order to coordinate sound starting from the DIAPHRAGM as opposed to no mans land.
@paulnawrocki34983 ай бұрын
A tip - put your hand flat across the middle of your stomache and cough. - the organ that expands is your diaphragm - keep that muscle activated, and imagine that muscle is the entrance of an empty balloon - Fill your balloon up! - if done correctly, your shoulders move minimally and the sensation is completely felt within the diaphragm; as if your diaphragm is actually being inflated (it is!!!!) As opposed to how we breathe unconciously, Diaphragm breathing takes focus at first, but you are in COMPLETE control of that one breath if only we all knew the power that one breath held. Celine Dion can ONLY be getting those crazy high notes out with pristine precision if she is in control of EVERY single note. Being in control of every note starts at being in control of your breathing.
