I find myself getting seasick mainly when I haven’t had much sleep and also when I’m on an empty stomach. I know exactly how you felt and it sucks! Hanging out in the water helps me feel much better than hanging out on a rocking boat. I’ve also found that taking Dramamine makes me feel way worse and don’t take that stuff anymore. Way to keep on truckin’!

Plenty extra Palu in the water for the guys in the water lol. The trick with Dramamine (that works for me) is I take one tan 24 hours b4 the trip. Then half tab/full tab the morning of. This gives it plenty time to get in the system. If that no work, go get the patches from ur dr. And I had mean sea sickness b4. So bad that I would get sick in the harbor. I used to always be last on the boat and first one off.

Spent 5yrs active duty in the Coast Guard (Was stationed on the Cape Newagen and Cape Corwin on Maui back in the early 80’s) and threw up all the time. Even while tied up in Maalaea Harbor! I started using Scopalamine in the 90’s and I never get sick anymore. I have a 25’ boat and I can be out in the worst of conditions and I am fine. Go to your DR. @@hawaiihammahs I put the patch on the night before going out just before bed. It can make you feel a little “loopy” and you will probably get cottonmouth. Hydrate up and take it easy till you get used to it. Warning! Be very very careful. Scrub your hands with soap and water after handling the patch. Be especially careful around your eyes. Do not touch your eyes after touching the patch. Be very careful to keep your hands away from your eyes.

I get seasick very easily… but these are the things that work well for me: 1) Full dose of Bonine the night before the trip and then another at least two hours before getting on the water. Dramamine works too. 2) The Scopolamine patch… apply at least 4 hours before boarding. Don’t eat greasy food. I usually just eat a bagel and some coffee or juice. If these things work for me, they should work for you or just about anybody!

Dramamine for me. 4 hour intervals take the max amount two at the shortest intervals. Make sure to start it before you head out. So you have one dose in you before getting on the boat. The second dose should be right when you start to boat or earlier. Just make sure to have 1 dose ahead of when you start to go out. Also when traveling on the water keep your eyes on the horizon nothing else.

@@hawaiihammahs I’ll be honest I’ve never tried it. I don’t usually spear off a boat and I don’t usually get seasick shore diving. I’m sure it’s work with a hood on for sure. The biggest problem with the patch is that it is a vasodialator…what does that mean? You have to wash your hands off really well after applying. What happens a lot of the time is guys go touch it or scratch it, then they run their eyes and their pupil(s) get huge like when you’re in the dark. It’s no biggie at night…but if your in the sun on a boat deck and rub your eyes…those hug dilated pupils let a lot of light in😂😂. Just gotta remember not to mess w it once it’s on. Hey Jason, sorry ur feeling so bad on this trip. I have something that will help u get over Seasickness within an hour. It's called "Po Chai Pills. Go to local Chinese market or Chinatown Herb Store, Herb store will have it, Market most likely will have it. It works on (Food Poisoning), (Over intoxication).

Yeah I live on mainland and I never get sick but one time I did charter with my dads on Lake Michigan and to be safe I took Dramamine and guess what back at the cabin puke 🤮 🤢 time. It was little narly with some rollers but I wasnt like worried but maybe with nervousness of hoping for good trip too it messed with me. Not sure I’d take again

When I was young, commercial fishing, I found the Dramamine actually made me sick. As soon as I stopped taking it and did it naturally, I was much better.

Bro...the secret formula for sea sick is to alway pack the jar Japanese sushi and eat a few slices as needed, trust me i been dealing w/sea sick for over 10 years and finally found the secret... any kind of ginger will help, ginger snap, ginger ale, etc but the sushi ginger works best lmk

Eating something sour can help with seasickness (e.g. lemon, maybe eating one or more calamansi if you can find some)

@@hawaiihammahs, it works for me and other locals here in Palau. I've asked a couple of co-workers and they've confirmed that lemon does work. They also chew bettelnut to help with seasickness but I definitely do not recommend chewing bettelnut. If you are not a regular bettelnut chewer, it will definitely make you even sicker...😆😆

To add to the EPIRB comment, make sure you get one with GPS. This will send your GPS position to the Coast Guard right away. The ones without will take a few satellite passes (could be hours) to get a searchable area. Its worth the extra cost to know it broadcasts your position instantly when you need help.

OHHHHH HELLLL NOOOOO!!! Soooo sorry you had to go through that!!! I use the Scopolamine Patch for my chemo nausea!!! I use them when I go fishing. They must be applied behind your ear the night before you go fishing and last 72 hours. Peel off old patch and apply a new patch behind the other ear if you're fishing longer than 72 hrs. I arrive Oct 30-Nov 16 fishing Maui 6 days then Oahu 12 days. I'm Bucket Listing and gotta do it now. Unfortunately I'm out of time..... Soooo I'm spending the rest of my life FISHING!!! Let me know if you can hook my up with some of your Brothas or Sistas who can dial me in for shore or reef fishing!!! 🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟
