I completely understand because the same is happening in the beautiful tiny island of Puerto Rico. I visit Hawaii often and every time I step onto the land o feel at home. Ciguatera only affects top level carnivorous predators. Uhu eat coral polyps and palani are mostly vegetarian, grazing on algae on the reef. Neither are known to be "hot" with ciguatera like uku, ulua, or kahala are.
