My pappy used to sing this song every time he brought his guitar out. I miss him so much, but I'm glad I have this song to remember him ♥️

Oh my goodness that is when Willie Wynn sung tenor for the Oakridge Boys! That was before 1973 because that's the year Joe Bonsall joined them. And it was before William 'lost' his razor 🪒! It's nice to see them from a long time ago.

Have to give some due to the Oaks Band that backed the Oak Ridge Boys. They were a great group in their own right.

This taping was made in the last few weeks, if not days of Willie Wynn singing with Oaks. When these songs were released on an album, Joe Bonsall had joined the group.

@@tbkulavik William Lee Golden hair did not get longer til they went country Check out the album covers of the Columbia records they were still singing Gospel mainly on Columbia records

Yes i was wondering. I didn't know Willie ever sung these songs. So who's voice was on the album then? Joe was in the picture but it didn't sound like him on What A Time?

This was right before the blond on the end left and Joe came in to be the greatest tenor ever for the next 50 years. Oh, Joe…nobody could touch you!! Rest well in your reward. 💔/❤️🙏

I remember seeing them sing gospel twice in Bowling Green Kentucky back in the 1970s. I remember lots of the female audience showing affection to William Golden. It looked like it embarrassed him.

IIRC that was their last performance as a Gospel band. They went county shortly after.

1973. The Oak Ridge Boys had recorded the songs for their first album on Columbia with Willie Wynn, then Willie Wynn left the group and Joe Bonsall went in and overdubs What A Time We'll Have Over There.

Jason Pope Willie Wynn sang with the Oaks from 1959-73 when Joe joined the group. This had to have taken place about that time because Richard Sterban replaced Noel Fox as bass in '72.

Theyre all the oaks. This is before Joe Joined in 1973. But the third from the left is William as he proudly says "before I lost my razor!"

Willie Wynn. He was the ever-popular tenor for the ORB for years before Joe Bonsall joined them later this same year.
