Looking forward to seeing videos of your new farm setup! One trick I've learned about humidity probes is that they take a while to adjust to the temperature - so best practice is to put them into a new environment in a sealed bag or something so that they don't get any condensation on the humidity sensor - because that will read 100% simply because it was cold and condensation formed on it. I believe the vaisala sensors have a heated mirror internally that seeks out the dew point to calculate RH - so it takes a while to heat off that initial condensation and get an accurate reading.

I had never thought about temperature differential between the probe and the room its going into. It would make total sense and the room the probe was in would have been maybe 12 degrees, then placed into my fruiting room at around 18-20 degrees, it would definatly cause condensation on the probe tip. I love it when youtube comments teach you things!

For that smart plug that died, try the kasa TP-Link smart plugs with energy monitoring. I use those for my mushroom farm automation and havent had any trouble with home assistant. U can get them from jbhifi, bunnings etc.
@OakandSpore
@OakandSpore 3 жыл бұрын
That's what I use. The problem is that home assistant would lose the device entity, and it would then stop working.

@@OakandSpore try removing the intergration. Check the kasa app to make sure its working by turning it on and off in the app and then go back into HA and install the kasa intergration again. You wont lose any settings adding and removing the intergration.

Such a contrast of cable management between the facilities. New place looks tidy AF, old has cable hanging everywhere including a powerboard being held up by sheer willpower.

Great video, side bar, I'm a new grower and I am trying to dial in my co2 for pinning and growing. Do you have any advice for CO2 levels?
@OakandSpore
@OakandSpore 3 жыл бұрын
Just use a tork percentage timer linked in some of my videos, and run it often. CO2 is fairly easy to dial in, as they mushrooms tell you when it's too high because they have long stems.

I use home assistant for mine too. This looks awesome. What do you use for your co2? I was wanting to automate that too.

How do you add CO2 now? Just open CO2 tanks in your tent or grow space?
@JoshuaMarshPPG

For fresh air. Don't need to add co2. Wanted to automate exhaust when the co2 get to high.

Dude there's plenty of controllers that cost WAY less than that, way less. Are there particular reasons you choose a 4k controller for a such a small amount of i/o?

Hi, how did you wire your humidity transmitter to e5cc and is there any by chance you can share your settings/program? I'm having problem connecting my humidity transmitter to e5cc. My transmitter says its for 4-20ma but when i connect and set e5cc to 4-20ma it shows s.err. Hoping you could give a hint. Thanks brother.

Do you have it in the right terminals at the back? Also make sure you change the setting to 4-20ma in the e5cc.

@@OakandSpore yeah, already did change it to 4-20ma. I connected the yellow and blue line of humidity/temp transmitter to the back of e5cc (A,B terminal) for RS485. Then the other 2 line from transmitter (brown & black) to a 12v power supply. Still having error.
