SAP Center really reminds me of what the Padres did with Petco Park. That heart of the city location really cements the teams as part of the city identity.

Sharks arena has aged well. The Coliseum was ruined in 1995 and has always had too much foul territory since it was built under the 1960s paradigm of multipurpose stadiums.

Fun side note here would be that the Google Downtown Village site had previously been the proposed site of Cisco Field for the A's, had MLB let them move.

It's maddening that the Coliseum could have gone the way of Dodgers stadium had the Raiders not ruined it.

I Haven been to the San Jose arena but we went to the Coliseum on our honeymoon in 1999. It was obsolete then and I see it hasn’t improved since. We got to see the Cow Palace… wow. Just wow. It was like going back in time but not in a good way. Oakland missed the boat by not getting the Sharks. At least Oakland would have one professional team since the Athletics move because a new ballpark won’t get a new stadium in Oakland.

It's freezing over where the new A's stadium gonna' be. I don't like that but...even so...get it BUILT Oakland!

You can say it, lower class black people live close by. Now that the team is leaving, why not stop charging poor people taxes and give all the children in these areas free education through four years of state colleges. If the county was ready to spend money to keep the team here. Why not use that same money to keep these young people out of poverty. You politicians wanted the A’s to help redevelop the area around the purposed new stadium. It’s now time for you to practice what you preach, spend that money on redeveloping the area around the old stadium.

They need to change the seats to teal so it doesn't look as empty

Sap center looks like it's in a Simi industrial area and kind of ghetto

"Ghetto" is kind of a racist term, but to speak to your point - it's going to look way, way better after Google completes their construction plans. Plus, there'll be a BART line going through as well. Diridon's going to be even more of a transit hub, and the Sharks will benefit from that (I hope we see lots of folks travel down from Oakland for a game!). You might even see a bit of a revitalization of Little Italy, too - we'll see. There's only one negative - parking will become more sparse. Hopefully the Sharks will see about building a parking garage where ABC Lot is.

I personally think the facade of the sap center needs a modernization

maybe they'll get around to it. I kinda like the steel & concrete look. maybe some more lighting effects?
