Not a fence in site!
@busi.global3 жыл бұрын
Yeah! It took a while to get used to the lack of fences around yards coming from a place where you need so have many barriers to feel safe when in your house.

I've always wanted to ask. How safe is Oakville particularly for blacks, cause I find it very beautiful and tranquil but wonder if every aspect of it is safe?

I lived in Oakville for over 3 years and never had any challenges with safety.

Hi Busi, We are unable to decide between Mississauga and Oakville. Both me and my husband don't have driving license. His office is in Hurontorio, Mississauga. Would you advise Oakville? Can we manage staying in Oakville without Car and him commuting daily to Mississauga using Public Transport? Lots of love, Rupa
@busi.global3 жыл бұрын
Hey Rupa, I’d say choose Mississauga, especially if you already know where work will be. It’s possible to commute between Oakville and Mississauga via public transport, I used public transport working in Mississauga for around 3 months when I got my first job here so it’s definitely doable but it will be more expensive than if he’d have to use public transit only in Mississauga. You can purchase a monthly thing on a public transit card (I don’t know what it’s called but a friend of mine who stayed in Mississauga that I worked with told me he purchases that monthly thing and can travel in Mississauga for much less per month) if you are outside Mississauga you don’t get any monthly discounts so you’ll pay regular price for each trip. And the amount of time it would add to each days commute is probably not worth it. It was also much cheaper for me and more convenient to use a car commuting between Oakville and Mississauga. It makes more sense to choose Mississauga in the scenario you’ve shared. When lockdowns have eased, I’ll make a video sharing how Mississauga is and looks 💙

Hey Busi, how's the rental prices in Oakville vs Toronto? I also don't see any high rise type apartment buildings in your vlog, is that not a thing for Oakville?
@busi.global3 жыл бұрын
There are but they’re not as high as downtown Toronto though. I’ll try see if I can get to do a tour of an apartment here to show how they look, don’t know how viewings work currently with the coronavirus. Mississauga has more high rise apartment buildings. I can do a tour of it as well, I’ll make sure to highlight apartment buildings on that video. Rent is definitely less in Oakville vs. Toronto especially when you look at apartment sizes. What you get for the lowest price I’ve seen of around $1500 won’t be the same in the way the building looks and the size of the apartment.

Hey Busi. Did the general public receive their vaccines? If, for example, you were to act as my family sponsor where I fly down, would I need to isolate even though I received my shot back home in SA?
@busi.global3 жыл бұрын
Hi Fahmi, vaccines are still being rolled out. They’ve started vaccinating the general public but it will be a couple of months before everyone has had a chance to get one. There are circumstances that can make one exempt from quarantine, I haven’t seen anything related to being vaccinated yet. They’ll update the info on this gov link if vaccinations will exempt people from quarantine or self isolation when arriving in the country: travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/isolation#exemptions

Hello Busi, I am a new subscriber to your channel. We are looking to move to Oakville with two kids. Can you suggest a nice area with good schools for a Grade 1 and Grade 3. Thanks
@busi.global3 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the channel Oluyemisi. I honestly don’t think you’d be making a bad decision with any area you’d choose to move to in Oakville. Have a look at the Oakville website I shared in the description of the video, you can look through different schools in Oakville and if one jumps out at you that you’d like to enrol kids at, you can search for places to live around that school. Highly recommend you check out the Oakville website to get more familiar with the town.

Hi Is it true that English-speaking Canadians and French-speaking Canadians don't get along and can't live together?
@busi.global3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t experienced any kind of aggression between French & English speaking Canadians. I’m in a predominantly English speaking province, I don’t know if the experience would be different in a province that predominantly spoke French.

are the healthcare services free or you need medical aid?
@busi.global3 жыл бұрын
Basic health care is paid for by tax payers money so it’s essentially “free”. You pay out of pocket for prescriptions, dental and vision unless your workplace has a benefit that covers these or you take out a plan for yourself to cover any dental vision and prescriptions you may need.
