@First Munch Yes! honesty really hurts some of these fans in denial, The Verve [a much better band] deservedly took it from them with a much better album, 1997 was all about Urban Hymns out sold them too (or the pretentious Pink Floyd wanna be's OK Computer) if Oasis split after this (like Bonehead had the good sense to) they would have been bigger in hindsight, the way they carried on with 3 different members since 1994, showed how much of a band they were,, after all they were not The Smiths' they in just 5 short years & have a perfect catalogue, 4 studio albums that just got better & better, a double album of non album singles & b-sides,, when Oasis carried on & still called themselves Oasis, I really didn't get it, why tarnish your name like that (no I was never a fan, just stumbled on this)

Holy crap, I was a huge Oasis fan in America during the 90's, but I had no clue of the enormity of their popularity in England. I knew they were HUGE but not to the point of being constantly hounded by the media. Reporters would follow them at airports and their mothers home!!! That is absolute madness!

BHE was largely ignored by us. It wouldn't surprise me if the energy of Be Here Now appeals to youth of today as the legend of definitely maybe and morning glory is lesser these days and Be Here Now is just really big and bold.😮

Having to pay a tenner for an album not only fuelled the industry and gave record companies the means to fund and support mad creatives like Noel and Liam, not to mention all the wonderful engineers/producers/art directors who worked hard behind the scenes…. it also meant us fans valued the music more. Part with your hard earned cash, you have more invested in the music. Streaming has killed this model. Now artists make 0.00000000001p ever billionth stream, have to be their own producers, their own engineers, their own social media managers… and that’s why everything sucks now. Bring back the old days
@GT380man Жыл бұрын
A remarkably accurate description. Most of us don’t think about it (I do) but the era where a band gets signed & the record company splurges budget, against anticipated income from record sales, is over. It’s never coming back. Which is a shame. Remember “Video killed the radio star”? Well, the internet killed swaggering rock and roll, never be placed. Artists now have to do it all & pay for it as well. They wouldn’t benefit from a record deal, because the record company has nothing to offer them. As a result, we’ll never again see anything like what happened during the 90s. Gone. Blown away on the wind. As time has gone by, I think the Gallaghers were a terrific partnership.

Loved this.. thank for making so much effort. I really like BHN. Yes there's too many guitar overdubs and yes the songs are crazy long but it's got swagger and so many underrated tunes. I think the sad thing about this era is that no one at Creation or Ignition bothered to realise Liam just couldn't sing with that level of intensity night after night without his voice giving out. He was too proud and too cocky to ask for help so he'd start singing and it would just crap out on him. He's not one to apologise so he'd feel stupid and just walk off.He's had vocal coaching in the last few years and knows how to look after his voice these days.

Not only for fans. This video shows what it was the last time you could think “you are free”. That’s all gone. At most, if you squint in the rear view mirror, you can just make out the last time young people (especially) felt totally free. Now, almost no one walks around outside, among other things, “having it large”. They’re too busy repeatedly swiping their lives into the toilet, mostly completely unaware of what they’re doing. Whatever it is, it’s not rock & roll.

It wasn't a masterpiece, but I fuckin' love that album, as it documents a time in my life were everything & anything seemed possible. And, yeah, it has no bass, some songs are a tad long but that means nothing. The songs are class, Liam's vox are spot on, most of the guitars sound good. But, that's just my opinion, the album is special to me as I grew up listening to it & still get the same feeling of joy from it after all these years. Definitely Maybe, What's the Story, Be Here Now & The Masterplan b-sides album, are the reasons why we love this band.

Have to say this is very well put together - am v impressed - well done for doing a stellar job !! This - absolutely stands up extremely well - as a sequel to 'Supersonic' (2015) & as a document in it's own right. Considering the massively smaller budget afforded this - in comparison with Supersonic - it has blown me away. A very professional - well researched, superbly put together - highly enjoyable - jaunt thru the post Knebworth - latter years in the story of the musical phenomena - that was Oasis. I've been watching this and half concentrating on trying to write this comment & - being - well - enjoyably distracted. This is highly recommended - imho - I give it - ten - outa - two !!! That's so very true. I think it's an actual condition. I seem to recall a bunch of medical students were given a shit-tonne of money and a research study group to find out the cause-and-effect of this album on the developing pineal gland and it's associated nasal capillary widening. Sure enough, when played at a volume exceeding +140dB in a range of in between about 2000~9000Hz, a fat old line of high purity content cocaine hydrochloride is what 98% of the study group demanded, given certain test conditions, ie, a bit of blue sky & sunshine, the smell of freshly cut grass in the the month of June, the whiff of a 1990's pub lingering in the air catching you fully off guard and leading you directly to a fit bird with massive tits sat in the pool room clinging dearly to a nearly full pint of Stellar Artois whilst screaming the lyrics word-for-word of "I Hope, I Think, I Know" to nobody in particular.. I'll see you in the bogs, love.. That all checks out fine.
