FYI, the opening piano part to this song is a copy of the opening to "Imagine" by John Lennon. They admitted as much and said it was as a tribute to John and the Beatles.

This beautiful song became an anthem for Manchester after the dreadful bombing at Manchester Arena in 2017. Noel Gallagher is a great song writer and he did a fab job with this song. The tune is gorgeous and very memorable. Oasis are of course a Manchester band and had a lot of hits. I have some of them - D'You Know What I Mean? and Acquiesce. Another great song is Supersonic, but there are plenty more. Although Liam Gallagher was the main singer in the band, Noel sang this one. I watched him do this on KZbin at a concert at the River Plate Stadium in 2009 and the crowd just erupted singing the chorus (and the rest!). It was amazing and I think Noel was very moved. I absolutely love this song! You're so right, guys, Oasis were massively influenced by the Beatles and it is great that the influence is coming through in their music. Sometimes in their concerts, Liam would sing I Am The Walrus which is a famous Beatles song. Great reaction guys, very interesting and enjoyable. Cheers.

You've discovered Oasis! I'm sure you'll get round to listening to all their songs eventually but one of my favourites is Supersonic :)
@duhusker43833 жыл бұрын
The piano intro in this song is the same as John Lennon's Imagine. And when Noel Gallagher sings 'So I start a revolution from my bed' he's referring to when John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono held two week-long bed-ins (derived from a 'sit-in') for peace in 1969 (against the Vietnam War and war in general).

I think after this incredible song you should react to: -A day in the life by The Beatles, which is probably the Beatles' masterpiece. -While my guitar gently weeps (studio version by The Beatles with Clapton playing the lead guitar) -The end or When the music's over. They're two of the most psychedelic song written by The doors -Miracle drug by U2, which is something similar to what you've heard here. -Oh, sweet nuthin', by The velvet underground. It's a song I discovered recently and in my opinion it has Beatles influences as well. I think it might have inspired The solo you heard when you reacted to Free bird -21st century Schizoid man by King Crimson and Lucky man by Emerson, Lake and Pamer. Two progressive rock songs - And finally I think it would be great to see you recting to some early Coldplay stuff. I would recommend you to start with a song called Fix You, it's such a powerful song

Noel states the guitar solo sound is so fucking good becauce he aquired the vox house amp from the cavern club from a member of the hollies, the solo was played on that amp, so think how many influential bands have plugged their guitars in that...maybe that`s why it has a Beatles feel...

George is right. Songwriting is a gift. Noel Gallagher is loaded w talent. I play guitar and it’s not easy to play but it’s not technicality difficult, mostly. It’s just capturing the melody. The song has a life of its own now. It’s now classic rock and will live on forever. Speaking of…..do “Live Forever”.

I love this song. It was the song that got me into Oasis. It's sadly fashionable to dislike Oasis now in the UK, and OK, you could probably argue that they never got back to the height of the "Morning Glory" era, but that's because it was such a great album overall. Anyway, I have a very leftfield suggestion. Rock is almost dead as a genre in the west, but one place it lives on is Japan, and even more surprising is that a lot of the bands are all-female. Pick of the crop (in my opinion anyway) is Band-Maid, formed by an ex-maid-cafe worker, who had the idea of a band who (loosely) looked like maids...but don't sound like them. This track is "Warning", off their latest album. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6qnZHynp7Gnhs0 (pssst...they are also pretty good for views too)
