Oasis are usually all about The Beatles, whereas I've always been much more of a Stones fan. Hot Rocks was the first Stones album I bought after getting into them back in 1990.

If the band had kept going after this album I honestly think they would’ve been respected as one of the greats again. It genuinely tries to do new things, the psychedelic stuff feels more psychedelic, there’s more influences from 2000s alt rock, the production is easily the best mixing of any Oasis album. I just remember the first time I heard this when it premiered and jumping around the room screaming that Oasis are back, and then that time next year the band was gone.

Yeah it’s a shame they split up just as they were getting back to form as it were. Dig Out Your Soul was by far the best Oasis album since Be Here Now. Having said that Noel’s written some great songs with HFB. Would be great to see an Oasis reunion one day though.

@@marosa1801 I mean there’s not really an Oasis album I dislike: I think DBTT was a great one that kind of leant into 60s pop, I will defend SOTSOG til my last breath and even Heathen Chemistry has a few moments. But it was this album where the future for Oasis seemed the most promising, as they were moving with the times while sounding distinctly Oasis.

I ve seen beady eye perform Oasis songs. its basically oasis minus Noel. they dont need him and they are fantastic without him. stubborn people who feed into his ego are the reason why "Oasis" cant reunite. They dont need him anymore. Liam should have just taken the name Oasis and not call themselves beady eye. i think they would have been so much better off right now.

If you listen to the live version of Acquiesce, you'll notice that Noel sounds much more confident during the chorus and the crowd goes wild when Noel sings, although Liam has a unique voice and there's no doubt he can sing, his personality makes people dislike him.

There's an honesty about Oasis that has made them my favorite band. The honesty isn't so much in what they write/play/perform, but rather, how they do it. Long ago, they reached the conclusion that rock n' roll ought to be pure and simple. I think the result has been a whole host of great, in-your-face music that will stand the test of time.
