Great tune that really comes alive live. It's basically a spaced out rock instrumental version of "On the Road Again" by Canned Heat but it somehow turns out epic.

Fantastic work 👏🏻 What is your general pedal set up for Noel’s tone
@pauljohnstone5477 ай бұрын
Thanks man. Generally I use the overdrive channel on my amp and have compressor on, that's the main sound. I use an SD1 if I need extra boost depending on song, I don't use any extra drive on this pedal just use the level up at 3 o'clock and tone at 2 to boost the mids. Then for lead sounds i recently got a clone of a SS2 so I use that with a dd3. On this I don't have the SD1 on, just the compressor, SS2 and dd3.
@garethhaynes12062 ай бұрын
Got two questions for you…. (Swamp Song) Do you keep the delay on the DD3 going the whole song or knock it off at a certain point. Also, with your solos, are you using a dedicated boost pedal or a TS with a clean boost?
@pauljohnstone5472 ай бұрын
@@garethhaynes1206 DD3 is on the whole time, as is my SS2 that I was using for the lead sound. You can use a Tube screamer instead and it should sound in that ballpark. To set the dd3 I listen to the start of the song, if you listen carefully when Noel plays the open A he then mutes it. From that just try to match the delay time and the repeats. I would love to tell you the exact settings I used for it but I just can't remember. There's no clean boost but I do use a compressor with level up to slightly boost my signal, this is also on the whole time.
@martin_P_Samuels8 ай бұрын
Fantastic work. I know it's a long shot but is there any chance of a version with the backing turned down? I always struggle going from the high bends back into the main riff and you seem to have nailed it. It'd been great to be able to more clearly hear exactly what you're playing.
@pauljohnstone5478 ай бұрын
This was the part I was initially having bother with yesterday when I was learning it. After the high bends and I go back down the fretboard before the main riff I'm barring the b and g strings on fret 5 and alternate picking those notes before hitting back on to the A note again. For me it was trying to get the timing right but after a few practices I think I got it pretty close. I hope this helps.
@martin_P_Samuels8 ай бұрын
@@pauljohnstone547 it does. The timing has been the issue for me too. I think the delay pedal he's using masks what he's playing somewhat. I'll give what you've suggested a try. Thanks and keep up the good work!
