Brave of them to cover this one. I remember Noel saying he let Liam pick which Sgt. Pepper song they'd cover, and he thought Liam would pick A Day In The Life cos its the obvious choice, and relatively easy to cover compared to this (Liam on Lennon's parts, Noel singing Paul's part) but was shocked when he picked this one. I think Liam made a good choice

MaximumFedoraTip I own that one on the new ‘Love’ disc. That one is great! Starts off with “Tomorrow Never Knows” Then feeds into “Within You, Without You.” And a bad part of that disc is you have to like all Beatles songs because it is like one long song. I bought that used at a store just because I had never seen it before. Then, I saw a song called “Gnik Nus.” So I played it. It was just “Sun King,” backwards. And George has a demo version of his “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” That is just him and an acoustic guitar. Wonder where this was recorded? All on the good ‘Love’ record.

Pretty much everything off _Sgt. Pepper's_ was/is, because The Beatles quit performing live after their San Francisco concert August 29, 1966. Only Paul McCartney's "She's Leaving Home" (covered on that special by The High Numbers) seemed that easy to do since all it took was a harp, a string section and high backing vocals.

a good way to get into oasis is to listen to their first album, how raw it is and how loud and pure rock and roll it is, then listen to the second album morning glory, the amount of hits on it, and then go straight to the last album dig out your soul, how matured the sound is, how polished it is and how different it is. if you listen to dont believe the truth its pure stadium rock, heathen chemistry has decent ballads.

Don't know whether this was recorded before or after LOVE was mixed up, but this makes Oasis possible contenders for the title of the 'genius fucks' who merged Tomorrow Never Knows and WYWY. It's quite possible that Oasis or The Rain already had this song rehearsed for live performance.

This was part of the Sgt. Pepper 40th Anniversary tribute album in 2007, while the "Love" album was released on 20 November 2006, so the latter came out first.

I don't normally like covers, especially of Beatles songs as they just don't cut it. But this gives the original the respect it deserves and is very well produced. A very fitting tribute. I wonder if Liam hired a bunch of Indian guys like George did?

This is a very good cover! I bought Sgt Pepper in 1975 and this track became my favourite off the album. 40 years later i went to India,then 3 years later i meet and fall in love with an Indian woman.

I think its silly to say that Oasis are a Beatles cover band. I think most just aren't aware of enough of their material to realize just how good they really are. But its fine, as they've enough indelible songs that down the line people will undoubtedly dive into their amazing B-Sides and the rest of the catalog. I don't really see who else is left thats rock and roll. Maybe Jet is all. U2 and Aerosmith and Springsteen and the Stones and [oi] the Police? Come on..

law you may find this hard to believe but I assure you its true. My friend was recording in the next studio @ Abbey Road, and he assured me this is real, and Liam sounds fantastic. I think he hasn't sounded QUITE this good in 9 years. Even the record acoustic Wonderwall @ UK Radio Aid where he sounded very young wasn't quite as perfect, he didn't drag out his notes, etc. I'm glad that people are finally realizing that he still has it :) Madferit.
