Oath of Ancients (Paladin) Build Guide in D&D 5e - HDIWDT

I like the build. I have a character made for Oath of the Ancients. I decided to pick the Warforged, in their description it says they can be made from wood. I took that as inspiration to say my warforged was created by Nature itself, to defend the forests from a threat. However I decided to go a more defensive approach to my build, so I prioritized maxing Cha for the benefits to the Aura of Protection. Thanks for sharing bud. I appreciate you.

I know that this class doesn't need fixing since it scored great on you review on the subclass but I can't help but feel like since it came out in the beginning of 5th edition life it suffered heavily in spell department. So here is some tweaks I think would boost it. 3rd level - Druidic Warrior abililty it fits thematically. They can sacrifice two uses of Divine Sense for a Speak with Animals spell. Bonus spells they get could use a bit of sprucing up: 3rd level Ensnaring Strike, Absorb Elements 5th level Moonbeam, Misty Step 9th level Plant Growth, Protection from Energy 13th Level Guardian of Nature*, Ice Storm *Guardian of Nature: Primal Beast. Bestial fur covers your body, your facial features become feral, and you gain the following benefits: Your walking speed increases by 10 feet. You gain darkvision with a range of 120 feet. You make Strength-based attack rolls with advantage. Your melee weapon attacks deal an extra 1d6 force damage on a hit. Great Tree. Your skin appears barky, leaves sprout from your hair, and you gain the following benefits: You gain 10 temporary hit points. You make Constitution saving throws with advantage. You make Dexterity and Charisma based attack rolls spells with advantage. While you are on the ground, the ground within 15 feet of you is difficult terrain for your enemies 17th level Steel Wind Strike, Tree Stride 7th level - Aura of Warding keep it the same. (I was thinking the aura gave you resistance to acid, fire, cold, lighting and thunder but that might be too much 😅) 15th level - Undying Sentinel heal up to half your total hit points. It's once per day so this upgrade is well deserved I think. 20th level Elder Champion keep it the same.

How are you starting with a 17 in str? What rule does this come from?

Improved array he uses for all of his build. Not sure where he got it from but I’ve seen a very similar array used by the dungeon dudes on KZbin.

I've used it for years but then I found out the Dungeon Dudes use the exact same array so I guess good minds think alike

you can have a 15 right? if you chose a strenght based race it's a +2 on str so 17, like if you chose a dragonborn as your race you have a + 2 in str and + 1 in cha, ideal for a paladin
