As a former 1976 Oberheim TwoVoice TVS-1a owner and a registered owner of OB-E, I will confirm this is an amazing piece of software. It has "that Oberheim SEM sound". The sequencer is a happy accident generator - and it's right there with the original. The original SEM sequencer was pitch-quantized which is an amazing feet for 1976. The vintage Moog modular sequencers were not pitch quantized and generating actual music is a tough call.

I demoed this next to my OBXa and bought it. First software that sounds like an Oberheim to my ears. Just easy to use in a DAW and saved any more mods for midi. Fabulous 👍

@@10010011001100110101 Tried it briefly, but it sounded to me like something somebody might want an Oberheim to sound like but doesn’t. There was a bass patch that sounded more like an SH101 or some other snappy bass synth, and an Oberheim poly definitely doesn’t sound like that. That’s why I have an SH101! In short, it didn’t have the vibe immediately so I didn’t try it longer. Maybe if I’d persevered, but this is definitely the ticket 👍

This is the deepest, richest analog sounding software I've heard in my lifetime, and I've been recording music since the 70's. I hate to say this, but I think this would blow the Moog One out of the water, but the problem with both of these synths is, they are so full, deep and rich they will obliterate any other track in a song. I have Omnisphere 2 which is my desert island software synth, and it's also very rich and full, but not on this level. Congrats Dave and G Force team, you've raised the bar on this one. I own Oddity, M Tron Pro(been a owner since the original was released and I still use the Pro on a lot of music), and Minimonsta..great stuff and I highly recommend.

The updates does sound fantastic. I do hope Dave and crew allow the user to specify the midi notes for drum mode though in a further update or at least make it more of a GM drum layout for those of us with decades of keyboard finger drummer muscle memory . Otherwise it is fantastic and makes the cancelled S.O.B. ( which I gave him hell about ) worth the wait for their take on the OB sound . Cheers !

This sounds great. Wow. For studio use, I think this is a great sound and app. I used the original Oberheim gear in the 80's and now all these years later we can plug something like this in and get this sound again. The large pads and filter sounds fantastic.

Saludos! ✌🏼😄

Did you see Dave's original post from years ago where he demoed the hardware synth (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mn-0l618Z7GpidU) and it sounded incredible, then his "sneaky" revisit with the bombshell that all you were hearing was the software version (kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKaqp3lnpJWCftk). Ha ha i was fooled its a gorgeous synth.

@ghost mall real talk. A comparison wouldn't merit a reason for getting this or not. Can you make incredible music with this? Absolutely!!!! Does it sound phenomenal all on its own?? ABSOLUTELY!!! it may not be 100% accurate to the original but I don't think it needs to be...

Good job all around. Does sound massive - maybe too massive. 😶 I'd say if you don't already have this flavor of sound covered it's a no-brainer. I have Obsession, Dune and Generate and there's no comparing, they're just all excellent tools. Kudos to GForce. Make music, not war.

I just downloaded the demo and compared it to synapse obsessed. The OB-e sounds vast and powerful. But, it's too overwhelming. It takes over the entire range of my speakers and my speakers are not cheap. Obsession doesn't sound as "huge" but the sonic signature is exactly the same. It's more balanced and fits better in a mix where as the OB-e is more of a solo instrument/always needs to be lead. Sounds good but ultimately im not getting it because it sonically overwhelms everything and the obsession already hits the exact sonic spectrum with a way cleaner sound that maintains richness and character.
