Obadiah's: The Esse Ironheart - Cleaning A Wood Cook Stove

Obadiah's Woodstoves shows you how to properly clean the creosote out of your Ironheart wood cook stove, then demonstrates how to add a gasket to the oven so it will remain air tight. Although your wood cook stove may be slightly different, most work the same way and accumulate the creosote in the same places. If you don't keep your wood cookstove clean the oven wont work properly and will burn the food on one side and it will be raw on the other. If you experience a lot of smoke when you open the door to put in more wood, chances are it needs a good cleaning. A dirty cook stove is also a dangerous cookstove. Creosote burns like rocket fuel, if it ignites in your stove and begins to burn, your wood stove can turn cherry red hot, igniting anything near it on fire from the radiant energy it will emit into the room. Yes, this Ironheart had some issues and the original owner severely overfired the stove. I took the stove back and gave her a different cooker per her request. She wanted a Kitchen Queen, since she had the Queen she has been happy and I have never had another call back. There have been some issues with the upper part of the stoves warping and I have been working with ESSE to get this resolved. I burned this Ironheart for almost two years and made a series of "how to videos" with this stove. I never attempted to hide it. Burning it taught me a lot about the Ironheart. I did not have any issues with this stove in spite of this problem and still could get a 12 hr burn once I worked through replacing the gaskets. It is disappointing though when you see this kind of thing in a stove of this caliber. Most dealers would hide this kind of thing from the general public and certainly not put it on You Tube for the world to see, that is the difference between Obadiah's and the competition, we dont hide stuff, we have a different motto, "Extinguishing Mediocrity". Our customers are like family, we treat them like we'd want to be treated, which is why we are so successful. Word travels fast online, it is all about trust. I have been doing what I can on my end and taking care of the folks who purchased their Ironhearts from Obadiah's that have had issues. Thanks for the honesty, does this issue occur in other Esse stove models? ie the 905 or 990? In Australia these stoves cost a fortune, $11,000 for the ironheart and $16,000 for the 990 I would hope and expect a FAR longer life for such huge expense.
