President Barack Obama said at a CNN presidential town hall Wednesday that he respected Colin Kaepernick's decision not to stand during the national anthem.

Obama is a politician. He wants to let Kaepernick know he supports his broken leg stance when Kaepernick agreed to be employed by the NFL. As soon as Obama said, it is Kaepernick's right to sit on his butt while he is the poster child of a Nation. I say, if you want to be a pig than get out of America. Both Obama, and Kaepernick represent a Nation. BOTH!!!! George Washington said it best, "The thing that sets the American Christian apart from all other people in the world is he will die on his feet before he'll live on his knees" (George Washington, 1789). Yeah' OBAMA George Washington said this!!! So, shut your pie hole, and learn from the BEST!!!

Pete Johnson what you don’t understand is in order to actually stage a protest that’s actually gonna attract the attention of the nation is not to “do it on your own time” it’s to do it in a moment where the country is watching. By kneeling during the national anthem he’s not disrespecting veterans but he’s more so protesting that while the nation comes together to sing a song about the freedoms of people, black people are being exempt from this and are suffering at the hands of the very people who enforce the LAWS of this land.

Never mind the many black men targeted by the police every single day and killed! Instead let's make it about the military being offended by people who kneel during the national anthem. Its a form of protest people !!! Protest is meant to call attention to itself!?! A protest only works if it draws attention. Do you think anybody gives a rats @ss if black people in black neighbourhoods march peacefully with signs in front of their local police station ??? I doubt it would even make the news. He dealt with the issue by enforcing the idea that people on either side of the argument should consider the other sides' point of view and use that the reshape their view on the topic, and to have a discussion to promote positive change and growth for society rather than just saying that people with differing opinions (a.k.a "that son of a bitch") should be "fired" and removed from the discussion entirely.
@chrishulsey51596 жыл бұрын
Trump isn't pc. That's it. and all of us that support Trump, this is the argument we are having with people, but all they want to do is yell and scream. There have been some good protests where both sides have been able to agree and actually have a discussion, but majority of them don't give you the time of day. 2 years ago these arguments that these players are kneeling for might have had a chance, but they way people are going about them, all it is doing is tearing the country apart more and the ones "fighting racism" are the same ones that are making this country more racist. Let's just all sit down, discuss the issues, and find a solution to whatever the dilemmas or problems are. There's no need for all of the violence that has been happening. Colin Kaepernick said, "I'm not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color... ------- This quote from him absolutely disgusts me, he's poking at something that he looks at trump or the law enforcement in charlottesville to blame for. Standing up for the national anthem is completely different and he should have complete respect for it to stand that only takes 60 seconds. If they're exercising their constitutional rights they should of done it differently rather than disrespecting the flag that people have fought and died for. Our national anthem is a statement of respect for this hope, not a declaration that those present agree with everything our nation does or fails to do.

Obamacare forced businesses to give medicare to full-time employees. All businesses turned everyone part-time so they had to get a second job. This is called finessing the tax payer into slavery. Murders TREATED with equal value of life whether they were black or white. That is not the case so I have no problem with what he did. @kevtb8746 жыл бұрын
'We fight sometimes so that people can do things we disagree with. But that's what freedom means' Nail. Head.Freedom doesn't mean keep stumm. It means you, me and everyone else has the right to voice their opinion. To express their thoughts when they feel something is off. To criticise the powers that be because this isn't North Korea. People have the right to disagree with the players who did this just as much as the players right to do it in the first place. The important thing is not to bitch and moan at one another to the point nothing happens except more hatred widening the divides in the country. The point is to listen and understand both sides have their reasons and like with most things the answer is compromise. You think these players protested and risk their careers for nothing? For something they don't genuinely feel passionate about? You realise they are a voice for thousands, millions others like them? How about listening and maybe in a few years time there won't be protests to begin with. People claiming this is a disgrace to the flag are missing the point. People saying they shouldn't do this during their 'work' are closer to the mark. That is worth debating but seeing as the reason for doing this is publicity and to spark a debate and change, I can see why they did it. It certainly worked. And if they lose anything from it I'm guessing they were prepared for it.
@jermainenobles87073 жыл бұрын
Very well said. I always had a problem with that. Kapernick never broke any law expressing his views/ rights, but everybody willingly ignored his pain in favor of a cultural norm. We have a huge divide in this country that was here from the beginning and it's still here till this day. I do honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. But i see a longstanding injustice in our country that puts a sour taste in my mouth that most don't have to deal with.
