As soon as Obama said, it is Kaepernick's right to sit on his butt while he is the poster child of a Nation. I say, if you want to be a pig than get out of America. Both Obama, and Kaepernick represent a Nation. BOTH!!!! Its a form of protest people !!! Protest is meant to call attention to itself!?! A protest only works if it draws attention. Do you think anybody gives a rats @ss if black people in black neighbourhoods march peacefully with signs in front of their local police station ??? I doubt it would even make the news. He dealt with the issue by enforcing the idea that people on either side of the argument should consider the other sides' point of view and use that the reshape their view on the topic, and to have a discussion to promote positive change and growth for society rather than just saying that people with differing opinions (a.k.a "that son of a bitch") should be "fired" and removed from the discussion entirely.
@chrishulsey51597 жыл бұрын
Trump isn't pc. That's it. and all of us that support Trump, this is the argument we are having with people, but all they want to do is yell and scream. There have been some good protests where both sides have been able to agree and actually have a discussion, but majority of them don't give you the time of day. 2 years ago these arguments that these players are kneeling for might have had a chance, but they way people are going about them, all it is doing is tearing the country apart more and the ones "fighting racism" are the same ones that are making this country more racist. Let's just all sit down, discuss the issues, and find a solution to whatever the dilemmas or problems are. There's no need for all of the violence that has been happening. The only thing he lead was death to America. Did you know that he made more national debt than (all the presidents combined)..? Bible talks about a man coming and giving the wealth of the strongest country away. Wonder who that was..? Lmao if he's your favorite president something seriously wrong with your heads. In the end you and your children will starve to death and be debt slaves forever. Hope that's not what you want for your children... Wow how blind are we?? Get a grip on reality and stop living in a fantasy. To do that you need to turn CNN off and get real news!!

'We fight sometimes so that people can do things we disagree with. But that's what freedom means' Nail. Head.Freedom doesn't mean keep stumm. It means you, me and everyone else has the right to voice their opinion. To express their thoughts when they feel something is off. To criticise the powers that be because this isn't North Korea. People have the right to disagree with the players who did this just as much as the players right to do it in the first place. The important thing is not to bitch and moan at one another to the point nothing happens except more hatred widening the divides in the country. The point is to listen and understand both sides have their reasons and like with most things the answer is compromise. You think these players protested and risk their careers for nothing? For something they don't genuinely feel passionate about? You realise they are a voice for thousands, millions others like them? How about listening and maybe in a few years time there won't be protests to begin with. People claiming this is a disgrace to the flag are missing the point. People saying they shouldn't do this during their 'work' are closer to the mark. That is worth debating but seeing as the reason for doing this is publicity and to spark a debate and change, I can see why they did it. It certainly worked. And if they lose anything from it I'm guessing they were prepared for it.

Very well said. I always had a problem with that. Kapernick never broke any law expressing his views/ rights, but everybody willingly ignored his pain in favor of a cultural norm. We have a huge divide in this country that was here from the beginning and it's still here till this day. I do honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. But i see a longstanding injustice in our country that puts a sour taste in my mouth that most don't have to deal with.

The most important thing about the 1st Amendment is that is allows people to agree to disagree. I strongly believe that "Justice is Blind". However, it has become, over my lifetime, proven not always to be true. Liberty and Justice for ALL is NOT ALWAYS the case for EVERY American. How sad that has become hurts me deeply as an American.

We kneel in church and stand for our flag. We ONLY kneel for God. If it was not for our founding fathers, Kaepernick would not even be here doing that at that time. Most of the people who will hate on this comment probably don't even know who our founding fathers are. Look up America's founding fathers and what they stood for before you even try commenting on this post. It is not all what the haters of justice call quote on quote "Police Brutality". Many of the people who get pulled over for traffic stops are drug dealers and criminals who don't know how to even get their own car fixed. For example, if your tail or break light is out, a cop will pull you over for the sake of everyone on the road who is driving. People with bad vision might not be able to see you and could cause an accident that leads to a death, so how are the people who can't even fix their own cars better than what you haters would call quote on quote "policy brutality"? People who do drugs in general or carry dangerous fire arms with the intent to hurt others (and not carry for strictly self defense) should belong in prison. Google the stats behind all the crimes linked with drugs or any type of substance abuse if for whatever reason you don't want to take my word on it....yes I know... the numbers are alarmingly high..More people die each year because of drugs or health problems than policy brutality and that's not even something anyone can debate, it's a straight up fact. Weigh out the pros and cons to each situation before you think you are the so called expert who can address them.
