Several years later I returned to San Francisco to work for PC World magazine and later was hired as the Imaging & Color Manager for the Hearst Corporation dba SF Chronicle newspaper where I worked for eight years. A great piece of wisdom I learned over 50 years ago seems to apply somehow to your dilemma. I know nothing about writing code but see if this gives you an avenue to explore. No situation is corrected by the same mindset that created it. The answer is to create a new paradigm that makes the old one obsolete.- Buckminster Fuller Every generation takes the advice of the previous generation which cause things to repeat. Novelty is the only way to shift the needle in your favor. Identify a need and then generate a novel process to fill the need. That is your template generally to get out from being steered by others' agenda. Hope it helps!

Any computer scientist who's read any CS books written before 2000 understands AI is a new marketing term for the old, failed logic systems.

My hometown had a great plumber, his son learned the trade from his father. His beautiful daughter went to college for a business major. The father passed and now the son runs the business and the daughter has now become the second plumber. She was asked, "Why is a beautiful girl crawling under houses doing plumbing?" She said "The money is in plumbing! I make 3 times as much doing this than sitting in an office and I enjoy it more!" Simple!
