I’ve met Colter several times.. a friend of mine, Anna, was his fiddle player for a good while. Down to earth guy.. soft spoken.. very genuine

the appalachian mountains end in newfoundland. there are people in newfoundland you could take to ireland and the irish wouldn't know they aren't local. nova scotia (new scotland) has people on cape breton island that still speak gaelic. they all have a tradition of kitchen parties where they break out the instruments, lots of fiddling. in the west/prairies it's all farming and ranches. wilf carter, ian tyson, hank snow, stompin' tom connors, anne murray... folk/country has always been part of canadian music.
