I did not see how you soldered the wires into the holes. great video & looking forward to more.

Yep I just reviewed the video and I didn't show the soldering. I did show how to put the wire in the hole, just put some solder flux on the wire, put it in the hole and touch the wire, board at the same time and feed some solder into the hole until it's full, then follow the rest of the video. Hope that helps. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

Wow chihuahua, México. Si todavía tiene el conector antiguo todavía puede coincidir con los colores de los pines. Puede cortar el aislamiento para ver los colores del alambre. Por favor, disculpe mi spanich uso Google Tranlate. Kieth

I Tam long time no hear from. Glad you liked the video. Just remember when using an OBD2 scanner that although it says it is a particular item it means that something in that circuit for that sensor is bad. The sensor is usually the problem, but it can be the wiring, connector corrosion or even the computer causing the problem in that circuit. Best Wishes n Blessings. Keith PS send me an email on how you're doing. Keith

Hi I lost my cable for my Launch 8001s are all obd2 cable pinouts the same
@keithnoneya
@keithnoneya Жыл бұрын
Hum that's a tough question to answer. They should be the same pin names, however I don't know if the colors are the same. So unless it's the same model I can't say they go to the same pins inside the unit. You can pick up a new cable on eBay for around $30.00, unless you have all the parts to build a cable it's probably cheaper to just buy one. If you do have the parts you might look around on line and see if you can find the wiring diagram for the cable and build it then. If you don't have experience in building cables or electronic repairs, trust me just by the cable so you don't end up frying your Launch or your vehicles PCM. Hope that gives you some options to consider that will meet your needs and get you going in the right direction. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

KEITH NONEYA, the DLC connector has SAE J1850 buss signals and ISO9141 K &L signals, what are they used for and what are the common failures from these signals?
@keithnoneya
@keithnoneya 5 жыл бұрын
That's a really good question. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the particulars on signal parameters used in automobiles. It sounds like you know more about those than me. When you find the answer post a reply to let us all know. Thanks for the interesting question though. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

hi just a question ...is it any upgrade on this scanners ?? I have one in mexico and doesnt work with cars that were made in brazil...I just tried on VW and some chevrolet cars..
@keithnoneya
@keithnoneya 4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. Most of the newer scanners will work with them, but not all. The reason is some countries have a different standard that those countries decided to go with. Also some sensors with stop a scanner from working, try this video from Scotty Kilmers channel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a32bdHqhj7N1qs0 If you are not an experienced mechanic I wouldn't follow his repair videos, he leaves important steps out. Also thry this video specific to VS's kzbin.info/www/bejne/bn2bgnRnepqokJI You can try this bluetooth scanner with your phone, pad or PC. It has some more up to date software. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NLQAHS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Here's a video on that particular scanner as well and why you should choose it over other cheap Chinese scanners. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4jCmoNpmc2Eja8 Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Also don't dismiss the vehicles on board diagnostic dash displayed OBDII and Manufactures codes that you can access by turning the key "ON" and off three times, on the last one leave it in the "ON" position. Do this WITHOUT starting the vehicle. this works mostly on Dodge & Jeeps. Try this YT search "how to access dash obd2 codes" Hope this helps point you in the right direction. Best Wishes & Blessings. Excellent video, Keith! I had one question. I have an OBD2 extension cable. It is basically a male OBD2 port connected to a female via a cable. The cable looks similar the one you used in the video. I need to single out the wires which carry the voltage to power up my OBD2 dongle. I think the red and black wires are the ones. Is this correct?

Good morning Ankit. I didn't go that far into figuring out what all the pins did, I only know how to change the connector. Try this web page for more details. It may have the answers you need: www.electronicproducts.com/hands-on-review-when-hacking-an-obd-ii-adapter-choose-carefully/# Thanks for watching Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

what gauge are those 16 inner wires and where do you get them?
@keithnoneya
@keithnoneya 4 жыл бұрын
Not sure what the gauge is, but I'm sure any 22-26 gauge will work. You can pick up or order wire on line. If you have an old VGA cord that should have some wire long enough. Hope that helps point you in the right direction. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

Love the video, does anyone know the name of the pins as one of mine is snapped
@keithnoneya
@keithnoneya 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Des, If you have a molded connector end you probably won't be able to change the pin itself without getting real creative, so it's probably best to just change the whole connector. You can do a search on eBay for OBD2 Male Universal Case 16 Pin Terminal Connector and a few should pop up. Try eBay Item number 322321344202. In the Select window the male connector I used was the OBD-M because it matched my reader. Make sure the connector you use is like the one on your tool by pin number and type, male or female. My reader only used a few pins on the connector and some tools may use more so make sure you keep a some of the wire hanging out when you cut the old one off so you can figure out what wires go to which pin on the connector. Hope this helps. Don't be shy if you need to ask more questions as needed do it and i'll try and help. Post a video if it's really complicated and and i'll watch it and reply. Thanks for watching. Best Wishes n Blessings. Keith Noneya. PS if the video helped drop me a thumbs up. Thanks Keith

@keithnoneya

Yep it was cheap to fix. Also some of the cheap scanners don't work on my F350, something about the protocols, but I know this scanner works on it. Besides the scanner was free and easy to fix. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

If the colors are still on both sides just match them up and follow what's in the video. The other option is to get another one use it as an example and then sell one of them to recoup some of the money. I hope that helps get you on the right track. Best Wishes and blessings. Keith Noneya
