OBDX Pro VT Bluetooth & USB J1850 VPW OBD Tool Review

In this video, we test the OBDX Pro VT on PCM Hammer, LS Droid, and IPC Hammer. We also a look at the documentation for the tool. The OBDX Pro VT supports the GM J1850 VPW protocol. It uses both the ELM API and DVI API to do this. You can connect with both USB and Bluetooth.

Love my VT especially via Windows (my ancient C2D 3GB T61 Thinkpad running Windows 10 is amply fast) using a bench harness. LS Droid is a nice Android option for stuff like harvesting .bin files. I bought a Fire 10 (2021) which is compatible and which I will never need to update but that was really for the experience and armed with that I'd ignore Android then do everything via Windows and USB.

So I know they are working on a DLL for using it with the tech2 software.(either Jason or Pete had a video on their channel of it working) It works with a lot of software but a lot of the ones that do that stuff make you buy their tool.

You cannot buy the product. You cannot create an account to download the software for live data. And you cannot sign-up for the wait list for the other products. With a limited operational web site I am concerned about buying a product from that site.

That's fixed as I just received one and downloaded the software. Things change RAPIDLY so KZbin won't keep up as quickly as their tech support. KZbin is for showing how to do things but inherently NOT good for discussion like a forum or even Facebook (which is free but otherwise sux by nature).

Will it read and tune a pcm in the vehicle through the obd2 port?

Yes. Bluetooth is slow so I'd skip Bluetooth if you have a spare Windows machine and use it via USB cable instead. (I use an old C2D Thinkpad with a clean Windows 10 install.) Where there is a choice wired connections are preferable to wireless which only exists for mobility. That's just basic electronics.

Yes if you can find the software to do it. pcmhammer will do p01 and p59 pcm's i know there are a couple other pcm's they are working on that are in beta and random ones other people are working on.
