Yeah I genuinely felt like shit in that moment. He tried so hard to prevent the return of the monolith, to keep his friends free of their mind control. And he was right to be as rigid about it as he was. The only thing he should’ve done differently was Faust. That guy clearly still had some kinda connection to the monolith, he should’ve been dealt with.
@syndos890022 күн бұрын
I have a feeling the kill strelok ending is the canon ending. He has the heart of Chernobyl, his PDA still reads Kill strelok like in soc and you 'complete' the mission - The zone expands all over the world, setting the stage for future iterations and/or DLC

The strelok ending is seen as the good ending. It is NOT the True/Cannon ending. The cannon ending is Skif killing all three and following Faust's words, leaving th zone to expand and chose her own destiny. The C-Consciousness was destroyed, and with Skif in the pod, Monolith can be finally destroyed once and for all and maybie, jsut maybie, Noontide return. STRIDER was the only true friend Skif had and Richter.

That's not Strelok. His behavior and actions are completely antithetical to what Strelok was in the first game.
@huihui5059Ай бұрын
Nah this statement is misunderstanding of the original plot from the first three games. Strelok was totally obssessed with uncovering secrets of the Zone and harnessing its power for himself in his true character and it was hinted multiple times in all games. In SoC he doesn't display his fanaticism, because he lost his memory due to C-Con brainwashing after being captured at the end of Clear Sky and then he slowly regains it via cutscenes in X-Labs. After completing X-16 quest-line in SoC there's a cutscene (that also appears as a flashback in HoC) where he visits doctor and says something like 'if you only knew where I have been and what I saw' and then despite Doctors warnings goes back to the CNPP and comes back half-dead, which clearly shows his fanatical devotion to the goal of uncovering zones secret. In Clear Sky after you complete Yantar plotline you chase him at the start of Red Forest and after he blows up tunnel to stop you he says something like 'I will reach the Center at any cost'. So yeah all of this is within character for Strelok, its just Strelok you play as is not really himself due to amnesia.
@blodlordАй бұрын
@@huihui5059 It seems you didn't play CoP. Strelok was obsessed with uncovering the secrets of the Zone but not because he loved the Zone or any of that crap, he was just one of the many Stalkers who wanted to see if the Wish Granter was real. At the end of SoC he finds all that he has chased to be absolute bullshit and he kills the scientists in the pods because he has become disillusioned with the Zone and he finds their work abhorrent. In CoP he is clearly depressed and blames the Zone for taking his friends away from him. His story ends with him vowing to honor the memory of his friends and helps the militray in trying to desroy the Zone as he becomes chief scientific consultant on Zone matters. This doesn't really gel with Strelok in 2 who loves the Zone and is willing to kill one of his closest friends for it in Doctor. Can he have changed during the time passed between Stalker SoC and Stalker 2? Yes, but that's a totally opposite change of who he was as a character in the first games.
@rosgoncharuk240327 күн бұрын
@@blodlordI call BS on CoP - Strelok used the military to not only get out of the zone, but to make a life outside of it. From thug to SIRCAA founder - not bad, huh? He was always greedy and selfish, his group was only a tool. All of them did something for Strelok but ended up dead. What did he do for them? Even in SC when doctor saves him, he is indifferent to him. No gratitude, nothing, just a desire to get back and further. A conflict with SIRCAA just enforced his belief that Zone is his to own. Strelok never was a good guy. There are no good guys in the Zone.

Everyone is a villian here... no one gets to eliminate the zone... Scar makes the zone a club of zombies... the ward controls the zone for their own good (and knowing that governments can be corrupt after..), Strelok it's somewhat of a neutral ending.. literally it's the definition of "The end justifies the means", he makes the zone a true exclusion zone, no one enters and no one leaves but still he is sacrificing lives of the few ones who are there for do something good either for a friend or for their own, stuck forever inside until they die... Skif, our main character... makes the zone to be worldwide just for the sake of being a psycho 💀

@@redactedredacted7250 in that case I guess streloks path is kind of the better path considering the zone basically gets closed off from the outside world but shoot I would hope the zone would get stabilized to the point where emissions were off but anomalies still exist thus making the zone safe for the rest of the world man shit I love the old games too much🥲
