Let's pump the brakes a bit here. Go watch the highlights, they're available. The level of these u18 games is nowhere near the level of premier league football. These are kids after all. Not to say Obi- Martin does show great potential but let's not be delusional about the skill level and demands of needed to play first team football in the Premier League. Its just unneeded pressure on yet another one of the up and coming talents, playing for Utd is a huge responsibility on its own.

Unfortunately the fact that Obi-Martin grew up in the Arsenal academy means that he still has so much to learn. He needs to learn what it means to be part of a team.

@@sgoredraw1455Unless he's spoken to about his attitude.
@andrew13yt19 күн бұрын
@@sgoredraw1455 Yes, it's a bit of immaturity along with a fair bit of ego, something that most top class strikers have, but I wouldn't call it "complete immaturity" just yet; he's not bedded in properly with his new team mates but I'm sure the coaching staff won't allow it to get out of hand. The fact that he's physically literally head and shoulders above his team mates, is used to dominating the opposition and has been breaking goal scoring records at youth level has obviously given him a degree of confidence and perhaps arrogance that we've seen in several players that had negatively impacted the senior squad in recent years, but again, many top strikers (and top sports men and women in general) have that singular focus in them. The fact that he's had such a buzz about him and he's been prepared to ditch a club as big as Arsenal (whose first team are genuine title challengers) for United, does make me wonder whether he is going to stick around and commit his career to us or if he's just using us a better paying, temporary stepping stone for a future at Barca or Real? At the end of the day however he's just one very impressive individual in a team full of incredible young players. I'm more excited about the fact that the U18 team is dominating and progressing rather than one individuals freakish productivity.

I hope he pans out good (Obi Martin) but from what I’ve seen, he’s not very disciplined and it may not translate to men’s football. There’s loads of clips of him practically tackling his own players, running in the same channels and nicking the ball of them. Then his reaction to Ibragimov nicking his goal gains Leeds was daft. He’s sooooooo young though. A lot to learn. I don’t see him in the first team for a while
@ukbigjon19 күн бұрын
He just needs to mature a bit, some people are making too big a deal of his "attitude" or temperament. Depending on the rest of this season, what opportunities arise in the mens team, I could see him making a debut this season. But it wont be long either way

Another great vid lads. Dont know about yous two but I found the Obi Martin discourse and Arsenal fans’ faux vindication to be so funny. Obi Martin moaning at Ibraghimov in the last match showed that he has a long way to go before he’s allowed anywhere near the first team . Ibraghimov was genuinely shocked at the reaction . Obi Martin is not a team player in the slightest at the minute . Whilst it wasn’t worthy of a disciplinary, it for sure needed a quiet word from the coaches after the game .

I think we’ll see Obi Martin in the first team sooner than people think. Amorim coming in probably moves him up the pecking order slightly, so maybe he isn’t considered 3rd choice striker as he was when brought in, which can be a good or bad thing. He looks like an Amorim striker and so does Hojlund. I see Zirkzee fitting in better as one of the players behind the striker and Obi Martin potentially as Hojlund’s direct back up if we don’t sign anyone there.
