To me it feels like part of what might be holding back his ability to use the Force is a severe case of PTSD and/or depression, on top of the years he’s spent hiding himself and his abilities to survive.

@@EternalChaos76 idk if im remembering correctly, but after the purge (order 66) Cal Kestis cut himself off from a ton of the force and had to regain it throughout the game (Fallen Order) so i guess the force, if not trained or cut off from (probably what obi wan did) can dissipate from the user over time speculation completely and could be wrong, but its the best guess i got

Given the recap was all from the prequel movies, I think they're trying to make it so that you can go right from the prequel movies to this show. Plus Padme is her mother. Nah, they're not gonna kill the Grand Inquisitor. They did that to remove him out of the way for story purposes, to probably set Reva as the secondary antagonist and Darth Vader as the main one. And besides, people dying and coming back in later properties has been going on so much, it became a trope in SW. Most likely, the other 2 inquisitors helps the Grand Inquisitor get into a bacta tank.

Reva for sure is the young Padawan youngling that appeared in the opening flashback to the order 66 that took place during Revenge of the Sith at the Jedi Temple. Obi-Wan Kenobi was supposed to save her and he failed to save Reva from Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. The distress call was intercepted by Anakin Vader allowing him to take Reva and mold her into his apprentice turning her to the dark side of the force. Anakin must have also told false stories about Obi-Wan Kenobi to Reva when she was younger and the hatred she has for him stems through Anakin Skywalker.

A lot of lost younger ones were easily molded by Palpatine and Vader after everything and became their puppets as much of the galaxy had become at first.

yeeeesssss, in the end it will be revealed that he's just using her. Any "connection" she feels to Anakin (the fact that he revealed who he as to her) is just false pretense and her feeling that "Anakin" is still in there, while different from Anakin's hope for the same, in that Reva's comradery is based on mutual hate/pain, but Vader is just using her, Anakin is dead...and this will be made obvious to both Obi and Reva by the end. I'm afraid it will cost Reva her life, most likely at the hands of Vader himself.

We could no longer believe anything that happened in the show is still canon, because the Grand Inquisitor played such an important role in the story of Ezra and Kanan. If their stories no longer include the Grand Inquisitor, their lives would be very different, and then we can't believe Ezra met Ahsoka, or that he sacrificed himself to defeat Thrawn. I really don't think they're taking Rebels out of canon. Darth Maul also *WAS* definitively dead before.

@@Joker23236 its possible he was able to resist it, or it malfunctioned and didn't work for him. the bad batch established that some clones are able to resist the inhibitor chips to some degree/that they malfunctioned in some clones (we don't really know why), because captain howzer and some of his battalion was able to overcome its influence.

@@Joker23236 That would depend really. The effects wear off over time, so by this point with Stormtroopers having replaced the clones, this homeless clone was likely old, decommissioned and broken. The chip's effects long since worn off.

@@Joker23236 This was after the clones got phased out, hence his rapid aging and the stormtroopers. The chips only activated to carry out order 66, after that they were pretty much redundant. Most clones at this point are conflicted about the past or believe the lies the empire feeds them.

It probably happened to a lot of clones, especially once the Empire started phasing them out for Stormtroopers instead. They had done their job, Palpatine had no more real use for them. His chip is probably still functional, but he doesn't know this random stranger who gave him coins was a Jedi, so the chip didn't activate

Wondering if she and vader have a connection that he kind of took her under his wings and its made others dislike her. Also would explain how she knows who Vader is

Don't like that Reva knows Darth Vader is Anakin Skywalker. That's a closely guarded secret that only Palpatine truly knows, while Thrawn and Tarkin very strongly suspect but do not know for certain. I'm thinking that Reva only suspects Vader is Skywalker, and is using her suspicion to play with Kenobi. Otherwise, well... Vader would never let anyone know who he truly is and live.

yep. the implication is that reva was one of the younglings from the first episode. my working theory is that those younglings are intercepted by anakin when he stormed the temple during order 66, and took her to become an inquisitor, and that's how she knows (or strongly suspects) anakin is vader.

It’s not impossible to believe that reva saw anikan during the temple siege and heard clones calling him lord Vader and then put the pieces together afterwards. Vader probably doesn’t know that she is aware of his identity or like you said, she would probably be dead. Honestly I am super convinced that Vader kills reva at the end of the show. And honestly I hope so, Because it would be the perfect and most ironic ending for her. She spends this whole show trying to find kenobi (most likely in hope of gaining vaders favor) and then when she finally meets Vader, he kills her

Regarding Ewan's performance, actually one of my very favorite moments (and I'm glad you guys spent so much time in yoru reaction there) was the moment with the veteran clone trooper. It was some top notch acting from Ewan and there were just SO many things going on in that few second scene - Obi-Wan must have had a MILLION feelings going through his head at the moment at seeing a 'familiar' face - grief, bittersweet memories (Rex, Cody, et al), anger at the betrayal, instinctive fear...and Ewan sold it. And at the end...he still finds it in himself to drop a coin/credchit (whatever the currency was) in his helmet when we could have easily understood him just moving on. For me it was just...such a powerful scene and character moment. Obi-Wan knows just as well that the clones are as much victims as they are (even if perhaps he doesn't know about the chip...I don't remember at the moment if he was aware of Fives's suspicions).

Love the young Leia actress they got from Bird Box! She captures her attitude and wit perfectly! What worried me more about this episodes revolves around Reva. The small gripes are the unnecessary flips and tricks she does over the buildings like Fennec in Boba Fett. Even more useless here when she can Force jump instead. What worries me here is how much she feels like Season 1 Zuko from ATLA but not in a good way. To see her get away with stabbing the Grand Inquisitor makes both of them look bad, regardless of whether or not he survives that stab. I’m worried with how she’s been portrayed so far and how integral she is to the plot going forward. FYI haven’t seen the leaks for the show, but still worried about it nonetheless!

Reva is definitely going to be integral. Otherwise her story here won’t get a payoff. We haven’t seen her get away with stabbing the Grand Inquisitor yet. She will get punished unless Vader himself intervenes.

Also during the recap in ep 1, they focused on Qui-Gon force ghost; I take that as confirmation that Liam Neson will return in this show.

Grand inquisitor is not dead because he dies in 5 years so he canonically can’t if anakin can survive having limbs cut off then burned alive and left there GI can survive a stab to the lower torso there’s nothing vital there plus who knows maybe he had robot parts there similar to Fennec

The thing about Leia is, she haaates being in the position of being rescued. She definitely has a wilfull streak and needs to be the boss. So I get why she was being critical and distrustful of Obi Wan. She expected her dad to send a whole army, not some unimpressive, sketchy looking, stinky guy.

Really shows what a tragically missed opportunity the prequels were. Liam as Qui-gon really acted well despite it all, but Ewan never got a chance to shine with his acting. What a wonderful treat this is for us to finally get this titan of an actor showing his full POWAH!! I also really like Hayden, so it's going to be a lot of fun watching real directors have a blast with this ensemble. Little girl Leia is awesome lol!

Ace is without a doubt not the only one who loves all of the Star Wars films. Some are way better than others, but all of them have moments I love. No movie that's ever been made is 100% perfect, at least not that I have seen. The Star Wars fanbase may be highly divided (and sometimes often quite toxic) in opinions; but there are way more of us than you might think that are just in love with this world and have a special place in our hearts for all of the films.
