Vivien Lyra Blair who plays Leia is so damn amazing in this show! She should be given a full scholarship to Juliard or any acting school of he choice. And Ewan McGregor has never been better as Obi-Wan, it’s amazing the way he balances a sense of crushing defeat with a sense of duty for the Skywalker twins. If the Mandalorian is a lone wolf and cub story than this is a Ronin Samurai story.

Idk if you noticed. But the clones had been cycled out for the new storm troopers the clones aged faster then people so that why he was so old. But the biggest part of it is Obiwan still have him credits even though he recognized the pattern and color of his armor. He was a part of the 501st battalion. Anakins specific battalion of troops in blue that wiped out the Jedi temple.

The veteran clone trooper, that Kenobi gave money to, bears the color scheme of the 501st Legion, also known as Vader's Fist, who purged the Jedi temple. It's a beautiful gesture and shows that Obi-Wan recognizes that the clones were mere tools of the emperor that have now been discarded. He holds no grudge.

How Reva/Third Sister knows Anakin is Vader... The very first person we see in this show...is Reva, as a Jedi Youngling. As Reva is escaping, she witnesses Anakin slaughter some of her group, and hear the clones call him Lord Vader on coms. AND/OR She hides well, and stays hidden, and witnesses Yoda and Obi Wan at the temple, watching the hologram of Anakin's deeds.

Actually we REALLY hope will see or listen to Qui-Gon. You need to remember that’s what Yoda told him, that he would be learning from his master about the way to immortality (ghost force), but yes, we can expect, because of what she see at the first chapter, Qui-Gon could actually be there with Obi-Wan as a force ghost, but because of the pain, the sadness and lost of hope from Obi-Wan, maybe that’s the reason for him, when woke up, to look after Qui-Gon but got no response… but maybe, as the series progresses and he starts fighting again, maybe we will see or at least listen to Liam Neeson!! 👍🏽

I think Reva is holding resentment against OB1 maybe because she's blaming him for the fate of the Jedi after Order 66, and I'm guessing this because she seems one of the 5 younglings that run away in the 1st scene. We need more details about that. I'm loving this, Star Wars has so much content, so many stories to tell around the story that we've already known. I'm not that happy about how they presented Grand Inquisitor in this story but... whatever, it is still cool to watch. It makes sense that OB1 didn't know about Anakin, after all, he left him "dying" at the border of the lava river or whatever. My question is still the same... Are we going to see Qui-Gon again???? Yes Obi Wan and Darth Vader will be fighting according to all accounts. Darth Vader is still in training as a Sith and not a Master . He only achieves that in cannon shortly before the events of Rogue One. So Vader's line in new Hope. "when we last met I was the student. now I am the Master.". Also in Return of the Jedi Luke to Vader "I feel the good inside of you. the conflict, let go of your hate" Vader "Obi Wan thought as you did.. you don't know the power of the dark side." Obiwan and Anakin did not have that conversation in Revenge of the Sith. SO the must have had it before New Hope. That means another dual Vader vs Obiwan

Happy birthday, Magy ! And yes, let's talk about your hair ^^ Kidding, this series is a bit weird for me. As much as I love to see Ewan McGregor portraying Obi Wan, I feel this series's storyline is a bit unnecessary, as I always had the impression that when Darth Vader and Obiwan confronts on the Death star, it was basically their first encounter since Mustaphar. Filling in another fight right in the middle kinda dilutes that emotional impact and risks to retroactively murk the impact of A New Hope. So as much as this series seems in good hands (Deborah Chao is one of my favorite directors in Mandalorian season 1, and of course, Ewan is fantastic at playing broken Obiwan), I'm not sure how they're gonna juggle such a shaky story (Especially Reva, who's is really not doing much to me right now. She seems like a one dimension villain, which is a shame, coz I love Moses Ingram, the actress who plays her. Besides, there's quite a big inconsistency as she knows the real identity of Darth Vader, which supposedly is known only by Anakin, Obi Wan, Palpatine, and Yoda. And Anakin made sure to erase any person who knew that info, so how is she even alive, I have no idea). I do like little Leia, though. She's got sass ! A true Mini Carrie Fisher ! For some reason, she reminds me a bit of Anya in Spy Family, only much smarter (especially in her dialogue with her cousin, that had some serious Anya vs Damian vibe ^^). I like less how she's seemingly able to outrun full grown men for half an episode, though. The episode 2 final shot was very exciting, though. So for now, we'll see how it evolves.

This show already contradicted A New Hope. Little Leia says Bail will send a whole army to rescue her. But in A New Hope, Leia tells Grand Admiral Tarkin that Alderaan is peaceful and has no weapons. Are we really supposed to believe that the Organas removed a planetary military and all of the weapons they used in just nine years?

I'm really happy that we're following Obi Wan on a crazy adventure with Leia, it'll make it so much sweeter when rewatching Episode 4 with Leia's reaction to Obi Wan being on the Death Star to rescue her. I was a little trepidatious when we stopped following Luke, but it going nicely. And as an added bonus, we get to see Bail Organa again and the beautiful world of Alderaan! I'm also guessing that the 3rd sister was one of the children at the start of the first episode, in the Jedi Temple. Maybe, given how young she would have been during the attack, and I assume capture, that she was brain washed that the Jedi truly betrayed the Republic and need to be hunted down. She might even be hold Vader in high regard and wanting to please the "Savior of the Republic/Empire against the Jedi tyranny"

Magy, Obi-Wan and Vader can't fight in this series, in A NEW HOPE, Vader says that "the last time we met I was but a learner, now I am the master". That means that they didn't meet since Mustafar (Star Wars III lave fight) until the Death Star (Star Wars IV). The next episode is supposed to be on Wed.

A lot of people are not understanding the very good strategy they are playing in this series. The idea they are developing is that 10 years without practicing and really trying to suppress Jedi techniques, Obi-Wan is really losing his abilities. He's turning into old Ben Kenobi. It's a great idea to develop continuity because it explains how the Jedi in the prequels and in the animations they seem a lot more powerful than in the original trilogy. If Obi-Wan started jumping off buildings and moving walls with one finger, it wouldn't look like he was holding back and stopped training. Inquisitors, on the other hand, train and practice all the time. Combat will not be so easy without hidden training.

Hey, Magy! Very solid FIRST EPISODE. I was glad to see that along with McGregor, Joel Edgerton and Jimmy Smits reprised their roles of Owen Lars and Bail Organa, respectively. Very surprised and delighted to get a glimpse of Alderaan before its destruction! Lovely tender moment between Bail and Leia. The creature Obi-Wan is hacking up is a neebray. They're not native to Tatooine but are space-dwelling leviathans like those who spawned in the nebula seen in "Shadow of Malevolence". Apparently this one died or was killed near Tatooine's gravity well and got pulled to the surface. The tough hide that resists vacuum and the absolute zero temperature of space have preserved the meat for harvesting enabling some enterprising interest to set up an impromptu slaughterhouse. The claim was probably made by Jabba since he's the Hutt in control of Tatooine and the venture seems to be lucrative for the owner. I have a feeling the Order 66 scene was included because Reva is the black female youngling from the beginning. The toy that Teeka the Jawa sold to Obi-Wan and which Owen rejected is the same one Luke plays with in "A New Hope" while he's cleaning the newly-bought droids. It will get into his hands eventually. The Grand Inquisitor is played by Rupert Friend who played Peter Quinn on "Homeland"! The Fifth Brother is played by Sung Kang who played Han in the "Fast and Furious" films! The kidnapper is played by Flea who played Needles in the "Back to the Future" films and is the bass guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers! C-3PO's cameo was portrayed, naturally, by Anthony Daniels as always! Hey, Magy! The SECOND EPISODE threw me a bit. Planet Daiyu looks like Shanghai at night. I love practical effects but some of those aliens looked '60's-era Trek shoddy! The velociraptor-man eating that giant rib who took pot shots at Kenobi from the rooftop clearly looked like a dude in an ill-fitting suit and should have been an animatronic instead. Clone trooper wearing the armor of Anakin's 501st! Nice Temuera Morrison cameo! Kumail Nanjiani does a terrific guest turn as a Jedi fanboy who's not above scamming the locals. He has enough knowledge of the Jedi to play-act as one but not enough knowledge to know he would put Obi-Wan at risk by confronting Reva. Who are the friendlies he sent Kenobi to? A nascent resistance cell? I loved that Kenobi was so rusty at hand-to-hand combat that he injured his knuckles throwing a punch! Little Leia's old man jokes were on point but she pissed me off when she high-tailed it causing all sorts of chaos only to admonish Kenobi for not trusting Haja when he offered to help! WTF? The little miss needed to be put over Kenobi's knee and spanked raw! I'm fairly certain Kenobi's first access of the Force to save Leia will open him to communion with Liam Neeson in a Qui-Gon cameo later on. We learn that Reva's been studying the archives to bait her Kenobi trap with Organa's child and that she's got something to prove to her colleagues who believe her to be the least among them. Her perusal of the archives also revealed to her Lord Vader's previous identity! The lady is playing with fire! The SHOCKING REVELATION to Kenobi that Anakin lived had me scratching my head. Kenobi saw the hologram when Palpatine anointed Anakin as Vader. He may have thought he killed him on Mustafar but he has NEVER HEARD of Lord Vader's name in the ten years he's been on Tatooine? Sure, he's been in a cave but he does go to town and talk to Owen. I'm certain Vader is known in the Outer Rim and Kenobi's ignorance is difficult to believe. Did he think the Emperor named another apprentice Vader? It didn't feel plausible. Reva shanks the Grand Inquisitor! What? Either he's not dead, the Grand Inquisitor from "Rebels" is a clone or he's somebody different accounting for all the fuss about his appearance deviating from his look in the cartoon. Did they really hire Rupert Friend for just two episodes? The species of the Grand Inquisitor in the cartoon is a Pau'an from Utapau. This Grand Inquisitor was not a Pau'an. So, maybe he's going to be replaced. A glimpse of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader having a nice bacta soak! Rya Kihlstedt of "Dexter" plays the Fourth Sister Inquisitor. The street urchin, Tetha Grig, who gives Kenobi a free spice sample is Ewan McGregor's real-life daughter, Esther-Rose McGregor!

If you think the Grand Inquisitor was intimidating in the bar at the start you should watch Inglorious Basterds. There's a lot of similarities between the way he is here and the way one of the bad guys is in that film. Also interesting that Obi Wan gave the clone trooper credits, despite the fact he knew clone troopers were the ones trying to kill him in order 66....also the fact that the clone trooper we see specifically was wearing the armor of the 501st, which was the battalion that Anakin was in charge of and who was involved with purging the Jedi temple.
