Obi-Wan Kenobi | Part II - REACTION!

The second part of the series takes us from Tatooine to Daiyu, where Obi-Wan is trying to rescue Leia, while being pursued by Reva and the other Inquisitors. Some really exciting and fun stuff in this one, but we definitely also have some questions... Can't wait for the next episode, though! Especially after that last shot!

I know, but it's clear the intention of the screenwriters was that it's Padme. Only a small minority of the general audience even knows of Satine. Doesn't matter, take from it what you will, it works fine either way, it's all good.

Disney has always stressed continuity with the new canon. There's no way the Grand Inquisitior is dead, people have survived WAY worse in Star Wars. Maul was cut in half and Vader was fully dismembered and burned alive!

@@bryanandersonmt Well, Reva is already the focus even when he is alive... it's more her story arc in general. But the IMDB list just hints he is still alive. Of coarse IMDB can be wrong too.... and Lucasfilm is famous for hiding stuff. Hopefully it's not a error since he is alive in Rebels which is later in the timeline. I just can't wait to see more!

I still get choked up every time I see Obi-wan using the force for the first time to save Leia from her fall. Someone who hasn’t used his powers for ten years to put all his faith on his ability again to save her. And that little girl, Carrie Fisher would be so proud of her.

I love the actress they got for Leia young! She’s obviously not trying to impersonate Carrie fisher(rip), but you can see hints of her becoming that. I view her the same way I view Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo. It’s not meant to BE the exact versions from the films because frankly they haven’t BECOME those versions if that makes any sense. I just hope she doesn’t get hate like what happened with Jake Loyd.

I shouldn't say I'm surprised, but Ewan McGregor is doing such a phenomenal job bridging the gap between his prequels Obi-Wan and Alec Guinness' Obi-Wan. Even down to how he grips the lightsaber and checks it hesitantly. Very reminiscent of Episode IV!

I was thinking the same thing. This is likely to get him out of the series to focus more on Reva and Vader. With him losing 1 stomach it is likely why we see him more gaunt in Rebels

Vader survived being burned to a crisp, fennec survived and Maul survived being cut in half. Grand Inquisitor guaranteed survived that stab.

That cut at the end made me jump, the music too....I was afraid you guys were gonna talk through it and miss the impact of the quick cut scene! This whole time since Revenge of the Sith....it had never occurred to me that Obi-wan didn't know Anakin actually survived their fight and was alive and now ruling as Darth Vader. I honestly just thought this whole time he knew that. The fact that he was just now discovering that he didn't kill his "brother" is such a heart dropping gut-punch moment for Obi-wan cause of all the guilt he carried as a burden for 10 years thinking that he failed him and that he did kill him, now to find out that he just left him for dead, but didn't die adds another depth of guilt! When Bail told Obi-wan "You couldn't save Anakin" we all thought that implied saving him from turning to the dark side, but to Obi-wan it was that he was convinced that that meant he couldn't save Anakin from dying. I mean granted he witnessed him being burnt alive, he probably just assumed he burnt..to death. And now after all these years Obi-wan thought he couldn't force link with Anakin because he just assumed he wasn't alive anymore, but at the end now he thought to call out to him...and Darth Vader now sensed that force link, exposing that Obi-wan is indeed alive, (to quote A New Hope), "sensing something, a presence he has not felt since"..... Such a great first episode!

It sounds crazy but that's the first time Obi-Wan (Ewan) has been in a live scene with a Clone trooper. And the clone (Temuera) was one of the 501st members as well.

It's the same Grand Inquisitor from Rebels. During an interview, the actor even states his character used to be a temple guard. He and some of the other Inquisitors are in Rebels, Reva isn't.

Vivien Lyra Blair as Leia is honestly one of the best child actress I have ever seen, as great as Bella Ramsey as Lyanna Mormont in Game Of Thrones. The way she walks and talk with a royal sense of confidence and composure like Padme and the sense of adventure like Anakin.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Also Ewan McGregor pulled at my heartstrings when he learned Vader was still alive, especially when he whispers “Anakin”.

I seriously loved Leia so much! She reminded me way too much of how she was in the Leia: Princess of Alderaan book! Mischievous, sassy, and always causing trouble! The young actress they chose did SUCH an amazing job capturing that! As for the Grand Inquisitor? It's such a mystery. The obvious thought would be that he's not the same Grand Inquisitor as we saw in Rebels, but it's definitely possible that he could have survived that blow from Reva. I mean, if Maul could survive being literally chopped in half, a more "minor" (compared to Maul's injury) injury would definitely be survivable. And I do wanna point out that it seemed far too easy for Reva to just kill him off. I mean, he's the Grand Inquisitor! He should have seen that coming, and yet it happened so easily! I don't think he's dead.

According to the Ahsoka book (canon), by this time, Ahsoka had been recruited by Organa into a cell, and her priority was getting force sensitive children & their families to safety. I’m not saying Ahsoka will be involved (she doesn’t know about Anakin being Darth Vader until Rebels, and changing that seems like a bigger deal than the Grand Inquisitor). But, at this time 1. She’s working with Organa, and 2. She/her cell is rescuing force sensitive children (which seems to be the kind of cell Kenobi has run into).

I mean, of course the Grand Inquisitor isn't dead. I don't know why some (not you guys of course) are getting so het up about that. This was more about Reva's obsessive ambition and how far she was willing to take it to stop him taking the credit for capturing Kenobi, but in doing so ironically allowing him to actually escape this encounter. And of course, that act in itself has completely disassociated her from the group. People just need to have the patience to allow the story to play out before shouting their gob off. (Of course, if I'm wrong, it will gladly eat all the hats as as a penance) Obi-Wan learning that Anakin/Vader is still alive was the highlight of this episode - Ewan sold that utter silent shock and confusion chillingly well.

A lot of people are not understanding the very good strategy they are playing in this series. The idea they are developing is that 10 years without practicing and really trying to suppress Jedi techniques, Obi-Wan is really losing his abilities. He's turning into old Ben Kenobi. It's a great idea to develop continuity because it explains how the Jedi in the prequels and in the animations they seem a lot more powerful than in the original trilogy. If Obi-Wan started jumping off buildings and moving walls with one finger, it wouldn't look like he was holding back and stopped training. Inquisitors, on the other hand, train and practice all the time. Combat will not be so easy without hidden training.

Carrie would be proud (rip), The GI should be i think injured and if that planet have a mod shop, we'll see him later in Rebels as in canon. Reva would be dead by the time before Rebels. cause she knows too much about Anakin/Vader stuff. He does not tolerate any rumors of his backstory/past.

Obviously this series is binding Epi 1,2,3 with 4 much more closely together. Obvious as well Obi Wan will use his lightsabre more as he was NOT bothered in Epi 4 to use it in the cantenna bar scene and was still a wanted man and an outcast on Tatooine society. I'm sure he'll get his old master Qui-Gon Jinn will tell to not allow his abilities to fade away and to keep his abilities sharp. We know he does use his Jedi powers in Epi 4 and they were focused, especially the mind tricks.
