I love how extremely complex yet simple this character really is. From what I remember when I first saw him in a New Hope, he seems like a nice and wise old mentor. However when you see him later on in the prequels, and the clone wars, he’s a man who has resisted the dark side even when his master, lover, and brother died before his eyes. He truly is the best demonstration of strength. And even if he is fictional, I respect him as the man he is, even more than I respect most real life people
@tomlindop54282 жыл бұрын
I agree. Fictional characters can allow us a picture of people we want to aspire to be. Obi wan is a truly great role model of strength, patience and perseverance. When I was a kid I always looked up to him in the movies and EU. He was a great role model to have growing up.
@tomlindop54282 жыл бұрын
While he may not be as strong in the force like Anakin, he shows strength in many other ways which makes him more powerful than most of the other characters in the Star Wars universe and what allowed him to survive so long
@hunterkiller14402 жыл бұрын
I'd like to think of him as a weak Force user who was struggling yet is intelligent and hard working enough to become the legendary Jedi Master we have in the Clone Wars.
@JonTheJedi2 жыл бұрын
Obi-Wan will always be my favorite Star Wars character. A man who goes through so many terrible experiences and losses and never once gives into the dark side. I like how Count Dooku described him in the Revenge of the Sith novel. “He was a vessel in which the light side shown perfectly through.” While Qui-Gon might have been the perfect example of what a Jedi should be, I believe Obi-Wan hit that mark too, just in a different way. A bit more rigid way, but one that still truly sought to do good and not evil. Kenobi is the goat!

If Obi-Wan had a pocket full of sand during his duel with Vader on the Death Star I, he would’ve made it to help Luke to complete his training
@philippemineau20152 жыл бұрын
Not even necessarily a full pocket. He needed merely enough to make a small line of sand on the floor between Vader and him. Vader would have never crossed it, because it would have gotten everywhere.

@@isaackim7675 Jeez you're right. It would be so effective that Vader might find it unfair, most definitely outrageous. Obi-Wan could also lift the sand and create some sort of a sand bubble around Vader to keep him from moving until he made it to the Falcon. But I like your idea more.

Hey Alan, have you ever wondered why the Jedi never went after the nightsisters considering that they're so opposed to the dark side and the nightsisters used the dark side for their magic? You'd think they'd at least want to keep an eye on them, but it seems like they very rarely ever go to their home planet.
@maxxor-overworldhero67302 жыл бұрын
It's possible that they were never went after simply because of their isolation, as well as the fact that they were just one Clan among many Dathomiran Witches, of which who tended to be a lot more Light Side leaning.
@tomlindop54282 жыл бұрын
I think the Jedi did keep an eye on them. I don’t know where I saw or read it but I feel there was some sort of mutual understanding that the night sister stay on dathomir and the Jedi would leave them alone

Pretty sure they were aware of what went on on Dathomir but didn’t really care to go after it between the fact they were well dug in and armed and that they rarely actually left Dathomir

Anakin didn't START unstable he DID however became that way. Just imagine how critical BOTH these Jedi were to the franchise as we know it. Like would Obi Wan faired so well escaping angry shooting Clones or Inquisitors had he NOT become a famous powerful defensive Jedi. Or the similar alternative reality where Anakin grew up to be a well known Mechanic/famous Speed racer.
@kingandros48192 жыл бұрын
Being a slave as a child would make you unstable. Leaving your mom in slavery while you follow your dreams would haunt everyone. Returning only to find her right before she died a slave, would make anyone unstable. I stand by this in saying anakins downfall was that he was more human than the jedi wanted their members to be.

If Palpatine is the Senate, does that mean the Jedi Council is the Will of the Force? This is just a funny trick question, of course. You guys can answer if you guys wanted purely for entertainment!
@tomcat124us2 жыл бұрын
Jedi Council is not the Will of The Force. Snooke said it best, As Darkness Rises, Light will Rise to meet it. Ying and Yang , Push and Pull. There will always be evil in the universe, Jedi'i are stand between the Light and Dark and find the Balance in between, even if we don't like the answer, massacre of the Jedi and subjection of people of the Galaxy. Jedi Codes mean nothing, only the Will of The Force.

Obiwan always wanted people to fallow rules but always struggled in getting people to actually fallow the rules look at anikan if Kenobi would have been more firm and a father instead of a friend maybe anikan would have never fallen in his own arrogance he refused to talk to Kenobi about his visions when Kenobi probably could have lead him to the best person for guidance but of course anikan always thought he knew best
