Obi-Wan & Satine - My Immortal

I really like Satine. Her character gave something Obi Wan in the prequels needed, a humanistic trait. She shows the viewer than even a dedicated, duty-bound Jedi like him wasn't completely tied to the order body and soul. He clearly still loved her and her death really hurt him, really tested him. But he was still a Jedi and all he knew how to deal with it was to let it go. It makes him a very relatable character because think about it; how many of us love something that we know might deter us away from the path we've chosen?

her death reminded me a lot of gwen's in TASM2, The hero works, fights and gets hurt giving his best to save the woman he loves from the bad guy, but doesn't make it, because in both cases the villain motivated by revenge kills her, and both of the heroes struggle with the grief and then move on! Is it or not a lot like gwen's death?

Obi-Wan and Satine are so tragic because from the first moment you realise they are in love (or at least that she loves him) you also realise they will never survive. Satine's pacifist ideals have no place in the Clone Wars; Obi-Wan will be known as a great Jedi general but he can never openly be with her because of his principles and his life. When Maul kills her, the real sadness is that not only has he lost her but that he can never properly mourn her, because there is no-one (save Bo-Katan, and Anakin if he had confided in Obi about Padmé, which he obviously didn't) that will understand or even properly care. Obi-Wan has to keep fighting the war and desecrate her ideals because if he doesn't, it will kill him... and he will die anyway because Anakin turns on him. They are really a love story which was doomed from the start.

Yes Obi wan and Satine every bit as tragic and doomed as Anakin and Padme were and like Padme and Anakin would have been able too be happy or have a proper relationship with each other the order and lies and secrets would have destroyed them like it Anakin and Padme. Yes neither couple were ever going too get a happy ending as both Padme and Satine were destined to die young and Anakin and Obi wan were destined to live and die to a lone .

God damn, this was absolutely beautiful. I'm someone who has literally never openly cried while watching a movie/tv show or reading a book, not even when I first saw Armageddon as a little brat or when Fred Weasley drew his last breath, and I'm seriously choked up right now. This, right here, is why Obi-Wan is one of the greatest men to have ever lived in the Star Wars universe. He had to endure so much, experiencing one loss after another - his master and father figure, two friends and semi love interests in Cerasi and Siri (even though, strictly speaking, the two of them never really existed since they're not canon), Satine who was probably the love of his life, his best friend and "brother" and finally his ideals and way of life - and he never once lost himself, never faltered and always kept moving onwards. He represents everything the Jedi stand for and is, at the same time, the prime example for the errors of their ways: had more Jedi been encouraged to live with and embrace their emotions, yet not letting them control their actions, instead of suppressing them entirely... well, things might have turned out very differently. Alright, I think that was enough heavily involved nerding for today. I'm out.

I would say that I ship Obi Wan and Satine, but I'm glad that they never became a secret couple or had a heat of the moment kiss or anything like that. It would be out of character for both of them. I love their story as it is, a tragic story of two people who chose duty over love.

Poor Obi-Wan. 2:57 truly shows how sad he had to have been. Just seeing him struggle to fight back the tears of pain broke my heart. And I believe he surely cared for Padmé when she ended up being force choked by Anakin. Just how he secretly hid on her ship and the medical field scene. But nothing can compare to Satine

Yes he cared about Padme she was his friend but that all she was and the reason he hid on her ship was more because he needed to find Anakin And Obi wan was shocked and horrified by Anakin force choking Padme but more because of how it Reminded him of how Satine was force choked before she was murdered by maul. Obi wan was really seeing Padme in his head it was Satine being choked again and why he wanted to check that she wasn’t dead onice Anakin dropped her and moved away .

Really watching this video again, I can see the story of Obi-Wan and Satine. The editing is perfect and the immense and immersive aspects are flawless. The first time I watched this (years ago), I wept like a baby for about 30 minutes. Tears still threaten to fall. Absolutely beautiful and one of my favorite tributes of all time. That was amazing!!!! =D I positively LOVE Obi-Wan and Satine as a couple. Seriously. It's so much that my friends thought I had a crush on Obi-Wan until I started gushing about how great Satine is. (And she. Is. So. AWESOME!) TO ALL YOU SIRIWAN FANS IN THE COMMENTS: I HATE Siri. My friends have to refer to her as the 'unmentionable one' around me, and I constantly get mad at my iPhone. (Of all the names... IT HAD TO BE SIRI?!) Siri to me was always just a female version of Anakin. Her character solely depended on Obi-Wan. I don't mean this literally, as she was a Jedi, but she didn't really have a life outside of 'Yeah, she's Obi-Wan's GF.' Satine, on the other hand, is not just 'Obi-Wan's GF.' She has a family. She has direct influence over thousands of systems, and even has these independence complexes in episodes such as Duchess of Mandalore. I could go on forever about this, but I'm commenting on a video. Not the relationship between Obi-Wan and Siri. (This was mainly to balance out you Siriwans in the comments who are saying things along the lines of "Obi-Wan and Satine are fake! Whine whine whine!" I digress. The video was amazing, possibly my favorite Obitine tribute of all time. As Obi-Wan said in Episode 2: "Good job!" (I don't say this sarcastically.) Btw... you owe me a box of tissues. ;)

I've just binge-watched the whole clone-wars and found it amazing. Season 5 episode 16 where obi wan loses satine is my favorite one. I just about lost it seeing obi's eyes with satine dying in his arms. I've watched and rewatched..this video is awesome, it captures the moment and relationship perfectly. thank you.

This is still, to this day, one of my favorite videos. I adored Obi-Wan and Satine and I cried when Darth Maul killed her. I also cried the first ten times I watched this. As Obi-Wan/Satine fan, I can't get past the video of them. At the expense of the video, I had very mixed feelings: on the one hand, death Satine - I still can not watch it now, I immediately start to cry - and on the other hand... this is insanely beautiful video... living and... realistic.... And the fight Obi-Wan with Maul as if he avenges the death of his beloved. Thank you for this impressionable video, it's such I'm missing.

If Anakin's romance with Padme had been more like Obi-Wan and Satine, the prequel movies may have been less harder to stomach. Padme being murdered in front of Anakin would've given him a much better reasoning to finally snap and join the Dark Side to gain the power to save her.
