Last June I saw Obituary live in a very similar place...the stage was about 40 cm high and very small, people were moshing, headbanging, singing, satge diving and also the band was going nuts. Though that may not seem very confortable, it's the kind of Metal gig you should never miss, that sounds old school as fuck, to your ears and to your body! And you can easily meet the band! Time passed but passion remains. It's not about the 80's lost times, it's about METAL. And I know you all agree. \m/

What an awesome performance!! Cause of Death is one of the greatest albums ever made (Infected is a perfect album-opener). Nothing beats the energy of gigs from 1990s. Frank Watkins' (RIP) bass tone is so sick - I love it. I got a really bad case of whiplash from headbanging to this clip many years ago. I missed school the following day because I could barely move my neck, haha.

I don't recall ever seeing Obituary on MTV... but I digress, I got into it all cuz in the early 90's, I used a pre-Internet metal forum with my old 2400 baud modem and all these Canadians were into it. Montreal and Toronto preceeded death metal's entrance to the U.S.

When I was in 9th grade and I watched this video I always thought "fuck man, I'll never see a good death metal show with people almost constantly flying off the stage." But 4 years later I saw Immolation, Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, Cretin and Early Graves in Oakland at the Opera House and there were people flying off the stage all the time just like in this video. It was cool to see a crowd have as much energy as back in the day when this shit was just getting started.
